Life is busy, so I pride myself in being as efficient as possible. But I certainly didn’t intend to get all my “mom fail” notches for the summer taken care of in a single week. . 🌱This week, after she spent an entire day literally rolling and playing in the yard, we discovered that Eliza is allergic to grass. What does that mean? It means she’s spent the rest of the week looking like she has an epic case of the measles. Turns out, the measles look is a really unpopular one given the current state of uneducated folks that aren’t vaccinating. Four days and some pretty fancy [read: 💸] prescription ointment has bumped her from the measles look to chicken pox look today. . 💥 The next day, Eliza army crawled across our back patio before I noticed and stopped her. That means she forcefully dragged her lower body about 20 feet... Her lower body which has no feeling... That means her knees are currently without skin. The good news is that she doesn’t really feel the massive bumps all over or her epidermis-less knees. The bad news is that she looks unbelievably tragic and they don’t make gigantic band aids/gauze with any fun characters on them. . 🛒 Today we finally ventured back to our walking braces and went to private therapy. Followed by the grocery store. Want to guess what happened moments after this photo was taken? The most EPIC of front flips. Seriously, guys, it was a perfect 10. Everyone within a fifty foot radius of the produce section collectively lost their minds. Target, I promise I’m not going to sue you. Yes, your cement floor is super hard, but it’s not your fault this kid decided to be a world class gymnast today. Thanks for the free ICEEs, though. Your “distract the screaming children” game is strong, and I love you for it. Eliza is fine, by the way. She’s as tough as she is accident prone, thankfully. I have approximately 6383628 new grey hairs. Thank you Jesus for strength and also hair coloring. So I’m good now right? I’ve successfully checked off enough blatant, mortifying, and dangerous mom fails? At least for a bit? Lie to me and say yes. Also, link in profile for the Go Fund Me to bubble wrap the Wilders. We covet your prayers.

School is officially out for both of these kiddos! 📚🧮 Jake and Eliza have both had an amazing year at their respective schools! Our local elementary had the adventure of having Eliza in pre-k, where she showed them a 10 out of 10 in sass and determination. She picked up so many amazing adaptive skills with their help and has just overwhelmed us with her confidence lately. Her teacher and aide are the bees knees, y’all!! And peak that last day photo! Full braces! My gal is doing a bit of walking in the classroom, something we never dreamed possible!! Sweet Jake had an incredible year at Athens Renaissance School! Where else could he be learning 8th grade math or building a putt putt course to open to the public?? The sky is the limit for his brain and his amazingly creative teachers know just when to challenge him. We are so thankful for this unique place for our tiny scholar! But now, SUMMER. ☀️☀️☀️ #jakeawilder #elizawilder
Kiddie carnival birthday party today for my future daughter-in-law! 😂 Yes, Jake proposed to his BFF Ava at age two and, even in separate schools, they’ve planned a 3629472 futures together. The kids had so much fun celebrating her today! 🎉🎡🎠. #elizawilder #jakeawilder
