He has turned water into wine. He has healed the sick. He has given sight to the blind. He has brought the dead to life. He has calmed a storm on the sea. He has cast out demons. He has done all this and so much more. He has done great things. - “The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled we joy.” Psalm 126:3 (NIV)
We love our Journey Kidz so much and we love having the opportunity to pray for them as a church. . Kids are our future. They’re not only the future of our church, but the future of our world as a whole and we want to invest in them and empower them as much as we can. . Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.”
It’s almost instinct when we hear the phrase “God is good” to respond with “all the time”, but do we truly believe that? . Do we still feel God’s goodness when things are hard? When our bills are piling up, when our health is failing, when we feel like we’re not good enough, or when we’re so depressed we can hardly get out of bed? . Psalm 34:8 - “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.” . Let’s look at the word “refuge” for a second. The definition of the word refuge is “a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble”. . If we ever wanted evidence that God is good, THIS IS IT! This verse highlights how those who are beaten down, suffering, anxious, and afraid, are loved and blessed by God’s goodness and love and will find shelter in Him.
At first perhaps, you can understand what He's doing. He's getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you're not surprised. . But soon, He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts and doesn't seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to?? . The explanation is that He's building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing up a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. . You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a PALACE and He intends to come and live in it Himself.
Elijah—An angry king. A devastating drought. Epic opposition. And one man of God who overcomes it all. . When the world around us is spiraling out of control, where do we turn? . Join us as we learn from Elijah during this 11-week summer sermon series. - 9am & 11am Camarillo Community Center 1605 Burnley Street - www.journeythechurch.org

Are you going through a struggle in your life right now? . What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31
He can make a way through the wilderness, cause streams to rise up, bringing refreshing even in the desert times. . He can split the sea, move mountains, or any barrier before us and allow us to walk through on dry ground. . He can conquer any giant and bring victory to His children. . He can close the mouths of lions, providing safety. . He can open prison doors, setting us free. . He can protect us from the flames of adversity. . He can carry us through any storm. . - Debbie McDaniel's commentary on Isaiah 43:19.
Why would someone write a worship song called Reckless Love? How can God's love be reckless? . Worship leader and songwriter Cory Ashbury explains the powerful meaning behind the song. It's a bit of a long read, but well worth it: . When I use the phrase, “the reckless love of God”, I’m not saying that God Himself is reckless. I am, however, saying that the way He loves, is in many regards, quite so. . What I mean is this: He is utterly unconcerned with the consequences of His actions with regards to His own safety, comfort, and well-being. His love isn’t crafty or slick. . It’s not cunning or shrewd. In fact, all things considered, it’s quite childlike, and might I even suggest, sometimes downright ridiculous. His love bankrupted heaven for you. His love doesn’t consider Himself first. . His love isn’t selfish or self-serving. He doesn’t wonder what He’ll gain or lose by putting Himself out there. He simply gives Himself away on the off-chance that one of us might look back at Him and offer ourselves in return. . His love leaves the ninety-nine to find the one every time. To many practical adults, that’s a foolish concept. “But what if he loses the ninety-nine in search of the one?” What if? Finding that one lost sheep is, and will always be, supremely important.
. There's no shadow You won't light up Mountain You won't climb up, coming after me. There's no wall You won't kick down Lie You won't tear down, coming after me.
