Getting your work out there is important. If you have the tenacity, you'll get your work in front of the right people. -@trishazemp on how to build your side hustle into a full time gig. Trisha, you amaze us. Thank you for being real and for sharing your journey.
We love to see how you Braiders are connecting and collaborating with each other. Videographer @wellheyitsmeg and yogi entrepreneur @alliebarnesactive teamed up to produce videos for Allie's podcast Strong + Gentle. We got to see them in person at our Breakfast of Champions meetup last week 😍 If you're looking for people to connect and collaborate with, make sure to keep an eye out for what's coming up next in the Braid world.
We loved seeing so many of you at our breakfast meetup yesterday! Big big thanks to the @chatbooks team for hosting us. We're hoping to hold these breakfast meetups quarterly, so if you couldn't make it this time, make sure to keep an eye out for our next one!

We can’t put down the book In The Company of Women by Grace Bonney. Seriously you guys. It’s a book full of inspiration and advice from female makers, artists, and entrepreneurs. We love Lorna Simpson’s advice for those looking to start their career: Jump in fearlessly. Lorna’s artwork confronts the forms of racism and sexism that African American women endure. We’re feeling inspired by Lorna’s words and her fearlessness in the art she creates. #wcw
Part of our why is creating opportunities and spaces for you to find tribe. You are welcome here. You belong.
Our #wcw is author and journalist ⚡️Isabel Allende⚡️. Her work is equally informed by her feminist convictions, her committment to social justice, and the harsh political realities that shaped her destiny. If you want to read some good stuff, check out her 📚The House of the Spirits and City of Beasts.
Hey dreamers, what are you doing this week to work those dreams into reality?

As we look to the skies today, we remember Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman to travel in space. At age 16, Mae began a chemical engineering degree @stanford and later obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from @cornelluniversity a few years later before applying to NASA's astronaut program. Seriously amazing.
Words of wisdom from last night's branding workshop: Crank up your only-ness. Make it incredibly easy for customers to notice it, choose it, and share it with friends. -⚡️Amy Stellhorn⚡️, CEO & Founder, @bigmonocle 📸: @trevorchristensen
