Continuing our meet the team series today! Meet Hailey - our brand strategist and the one who ALWAYS brings the party. - 1. What do you do at CHAR co.? Brand strategy! Which includes research, a lot of question asking, collaborating with the team for strategy development and then keeping a pulse on the projects and making sure every touchpoint we develop stays consistent with the brand strategy that was initially created. - 2. What are you listening to in this season? Upperroom podcasts and Christmas music for sure (specifically Hillsong's Christmas album and throwin’ it way back to the early 2000's with some Third Day Christmas tunes). - 3. Average cups of coffee per day? It all depends but it usually hovers around 1 to 2 ☕ 😍 - 4. What's your weekend ritual? Every single weekend looks completely different, but I never complain when they are left wide open and then spontaneously filled with brunch at @cafe1eight, market runs, lots of coffee, getting together with friends or family, and just having time to relax.
Success is not only defined by finished tasks and completed to-do lists. Success also looks like taking a step back, evaluating the big picture, and then making adjustments accordingly. Every little detail is a part of a larger whole, so regularly analyzing business from a bird’s eye view is important. The result of keeping a pulse on the bigger picture is fresh insight, renewed vision, and changed culture. Take those few steps back to move a few steps forward!
Developing a strategic marketing plan is an actionable step to bringing your brand story to life. A marketing plan outlines specific ways of connecting with people who need your services. This week we’ll be working closely with a client to develop their 2019 marketing plan and we can’t wait to get started!
Values are HOW we do what we do. Think about it this way - Starbucks coffee or McDonalds coffee. Pretty much the same thing, right? It’s coffee in a disposable cup. But if given a choice, most people would have a strong opinion about where they would pick up their morning caffeine. Some would even scoff at the thought of walking through the doors of these options! - The thing is, these business’ brand values create a completely different experience. As a result, we feel things about ourselves when we sip our branded disposable cup of coffee. A brand’s values attract the right customers and turns them into loyal fans! Values may not be your typical marketing strategy, but it is one of the most powerful ways to grow your business and serve others who in turn fall in love with your brand.
Getting stuff done is our mantra right now. Between wrapping up year end projects, 2019 planning, and holiday breaks - this season is always a busy one for everybody. But having a good time even in the midst of busy is always worth it. Here’s to an amazing December!

A few of our team members are sharing a story about a purchasing or client experience where brands with strong, clearly defined values drew them in with not only products or service, but also heart & purpose. - Link in bio to read their stories!

Continuing our meet the team series today! Meet Bethany- our community creator, maker of the very best studio playlists, and master of all things aesthetically pleasing. - 1. What do you do at CHAR co.? I am in charge of curating and creating content for our own social media platforms. This involves a lot of brainstorming ideas, styling, shooting and editing photos, and writing captions & blog posts. I am also in charge of creating our digital content calendar for each month which involves A LOT of scheduling, coordinating between team members and working to make sure our social media is always the very best it can be. - 2. What are you listening to in this season? Tow’rs & Novo Amor, on repeat. - 3. Average cups of coffee per day? Green tea is actually my drink of choice. Matcha & sencha are some of my absolute favourites and my husband and I enjoy practicing the art of tea making as often as we can. The process is very soothing and almost forces me to slow down when days seem more chaotic. - 4. What's your weekend ritual? Currently, my husband & I are preparing to move out of the country soon after the new year so our weekends have felt a little chaotic with all the preparations! However, being intentional about going slow even amidst the chaos is incredibly important to us. Keeping our marriage a priority, nurturing our intimacy with God - these are the things at the top of our to do list.
We’ve been talking a lot about values recently and today we wanted to give you an example of a brand whose values are so strong and woven into every part of their business. - “Everlane is a company that is not only radically transparent about their products, costs, factories and more, but they also value exceptional quality. Their products, ethically sourced and created, are not just your run-of-the-mill products. Their clothing, shoes, accessories and leather goods are made with intention - not just for style, but also with the consumer in mind. They desire for their pieces to be worn for years, even decades, and there is something that you just know is different about their business as soon as you interact with it. - After learning about them and reading what they were all about, my decision to buy from them was an easy one - it was more than style, even more than the quality of the clothes and the excellent design of their brand (although those are still deciding factors); it was the way that their transparency made me feel. Their mission statement, their heart behind the choices that they make in their business aligned with my own values. Once their values were made known to me, it was not even a second guess of buying from them. Their values are lived out through product, customer experience, price, digital touch points, and so much more. If you haven’t already learned what they’re all about, head over @everlane and give them some love!” - Bethany, Community Creator
