They already had an incredible brand presence and loyal customer base so our goal was to bring clarity to their brand story and then build on their brand's touch points. After the initial story strategy was complete, we got to work on the ways that their brand story was lived out. Hey Friends, happy Saturday! Today we are answering another question that was sent in. Thanks again for your questions - we love hearing from you! . Q: I would love to learn more about your creative process; what are the major steps in the brand definition process? Your approach inspires me a lot! . A: Our approach was born out of feeling a big time lack in our brand story. We knew we needed a brand story but had no idea how to create one. We observed brands that had a great presence and a well loved following, but HOW to create that kind of brand felt elusive and out of reach. We knew pretty design was not enough. The old form of advertising didn’t work. A great product alone would not make clients come running. We had a ton of passion and put so much hard work into what we offered, but we felt invisible. This resulted in discouragement and low profit. We are still learning every single day, but we have learned a lot over the past years and love empowering others with all we have learned. Our approach to the brand definition process is comprehensive and holistic, rooted in a deep understanding of people. The first phase of the brand story process starts with consultative process developing the brand infrastructure needed for long term results. We absolutely love this thoughtful part of the process! We dive deep into the brand elements that create ongoing trust and love. In the second phase, we build out the brand’s touch points - giving careful thought and development to all the ways people experience the brand. This is custom to each brand but often includes a website, logo, name change, photography, design, messaging, and packaging. The third phase is a brand story plan. Here a custom story plan is built, empowering our clients to execute and maintain all these important brand touchpoints. Lastly, we offer ongoing marketing plans, enabling our clients to implement effective marketing strategies rooted in their brand story. Our process is rooted in a love for people. Because that is what a business really is and we love that all our clients understand this too! Thanks for asking :-)
We start most days with coffee in the studio - it’s the comfort of rhythm and the kick of caffeine that is just right. Today we are continuing to answer the questions you sent in! This one is something we talk about a lot - inspiration. . Q: What are some of your favorite sources of inspiration? What drives the great work y'all do? . A: Inspiration is so important not only for creating but for living life well. Inspiration needs to be nurtured and space has to be created for it. Inspiration rarely comes about with passivity. Instead, we need to go after it and take the time to PAUSE and look for it. Our inspiration initially comes from the energy and passion of our clients. We love to hear about their big dreams and WHY they started their business. Their passion is contagious and there is nothing we love more than building a brand story around their passion and drive. The WHY behind what we do is what drives us. We know small businesses change communities and impact society in a huge way. If we can be part of that by crafting brand stories for these hardworking world changing business owners - that’s all the ‘drive' we need!
Jeff and Jen from @tonicsiteshop are incredibly talented and build such beautiful websites! We had the honor of partnering with these guys on creating photos for their brand story. The goal was to add all the heart, warmth and community feeling with photos to a brand that sells a digital product. And what better way then with cocktails?? This has really been one of our favorite shoots to date! @tonicsiteshop's words about it really encouraged us: Char Co. created a set of imagery that instantly became iconic to our brand, and we find ourselves using them any chance we can get - on our website, social media accounts, in marketing collateral, and even in our slide dock for presentations. Their impeccable taste and uncanny attention to detail is what drew us to their work in the first place, but when we saw our images images, we couldn't believe how beautiful and on point they were and that they were ours. We immediately loved them and still can't stop looking at them. And neither can our clients. We know without a doubt that this imagery tells our brand story much more accurately and beautifully, and we're so incredibly grateful to the Char Co. team for helping us achieve that.

They already had an incredible business going so we came in and refined the brand messaging and positioning, updated the look and feel, created new photos, designed promo material, created a new website, and ended with a guide to live out the new brand story. @zest_lititz words were Some of the best money we ever spent!
