Every new year, I choose a word to guide me through, something that I’ll ultimately use to base most of my decisions off of (big picture & small picture) and to essentially be the guide of my year. In years past, my words were “discipline”, “simplify” & “uncomfortable.” I spend a lot of time figuring out what my word for each year will be - thinking, praying, evaluating until one feels right. That word for 2018 is intentional. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As soon as I heard it, it felt so dang perfect for me. I need to be very intentional about everything to be the best version of myself. Intentional about my business, our schedule, our health, our finances, our family, our home, my choices (both big and small) & my thoughts just to name a few. But believe it or not the intention of the utmost importance to me was my thoughts. I used to be amazing at staying positive and not getting too worked up about things but somewhere between a thriving business, crazy schedule, a terribly colicky baby, getting pregnant again so quickly, a little bout of PPD & just trying to stay afloat most days - I didn’t have the same positive mental attitude I had worked SO HARD to build just a few years back. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There was one HUGE factor in how my mind worked then - that your thoughts control your life. Let me back up a second - have you ever heard of the law of attraction? Do you believe in it? I mean really believe in it, like sure it’s a law but do you really understand it and put it to work in your own life? It’s incredible really - that what you put out there (thoughts, words, actions) will come back to you. There is so much that life has to offer you if you’ll just claim it - I promise! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Continued in the comments!
Strawberries for breakfast, lunch & dinner after picking a million of them yesterday during one of our favorite yearly end-of-school traditions! We just can’t get enough summer - I may be singing a different tune when the 100 degree temps roll around (probably not though honestly, I love warm weather!) but for now, I’ll take all the outdoor activities, fresh fruit, grilling every meal, chlorine scented skin, picnics, #hersheypark days and afternoon naps I can get. #petitioningforsummerallyear
I’ve never met a person who didn’t love chubby, kissable baby feet. 💕
