It is one of the goals here at the ranch to make sure Iolanthe’s Kids’ siblings feel special and loved too. Meet Olivia, Ella, and Isaac, siblings to Anna. They have and continue to love and support their sister Anna, who has battled brain cancer, blindness, and so much more. These kids are true superheroes in my book. Anna, Olivia, and Ella are aspiring ballerinas, so they were gifted with a DVD about the incredible rise of ABT ballerina Misty Copeland; Isaac is beta testing Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty (the Precious Metals Good As Gold variety) for me to see if we’ll be including it in future goodyboxes (and since he gave it his absolute approval, you’ll see more of it in future goodyboxes for the boys). Thank you, Isaac! 🙂 Stay tuned: we’ll be featuring more of Iolanthe’s Kids’ siblings in future. If you would like to participate, please get in touch. *** To follow Anna’s Facebook page, please visit: ANNA’S PRAYER WARRIORS https://www.facebook.com/AnnasPrayerWarriors/
September is #ChildhoodCancerAwareness Month -- but Childhood Cancer doesn't take a break the other 11 months of the year. * All types of childhood cancers COMBINED receive less than 4% of U.S. Federal Funding for Cancer Research * Yes, you read that number right, LESS THAN 4% :( * A child is diagnosed every ~two minutes of every day * = 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year worldwide * A child dies EVERY FOUR HOURS from Childhood Cancer every day. :( * Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children and adolescents * Early diagnosis of childhood cancers is difficult because symptoms are often similar to common ailments in kids * Cancer in childhood occurs regularly and randomly * Childhood cancer spares no ethnic group, socioeconomic class, or geographic region Please share these facts to help spread awareness. This goodybox is for Maddie, who is 13 years old, battling Leukemia *and* Glioblastoma, as her older sister Elizabeth had done before her.
I received the most beautiful gift from Emily‘s mom. Emily made this painting of Sunny for me. Emily bravely fought cancer and died on her 17th birthday. We need better treatments for our kids. #childhoodcancerawareness
This is a special goodybox going out to Morissa, to replace the hat/photos she lost in the flood, with some bears for comfort and a few other goodies to cheer her up. Special thanks to EVERYONE who has written and PMd me (and called) about sending cards and packages and gifts to her (NO CHILD should be bullied, but especially not a child battling cancer). I know her Mom, Mandy, is very grateful to all of you for all you are doing. Thank you to Franc for covering the goodybox postage, Irene for the joke book, and the artist Steph Laberis for the fantastic print. Morissa’s hat was made out of Mischief’s fiber, spun and by the ladies of NOSSG. #nobullying #childhoodcancerawareness
CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH Continues. Remembering sweet Rhythm today. This adorable little pirate bravely battled DIPG, and won the hearts of everyone who learned of his story. He will never be forgotten. #duckprints
Be still my heart. Today we honor these two amazing superheroes: Abri and Willow -- they have both gone through long and painful battles against Childhood Cancer and continue to fight and advocate for other kids. True Superheroes, both of them (I think this is quite possibly one of my most favorite photos, ever). Please go learn more about these two on their facebook pages: TEAM ABRI https://www.facebook.com/TeamAbri/ WILLOW'S WARRIORS UNITED https://www.facebook.com/willowswarriorsunited/
From the Time Machine, from last year's CureFest, Sadie and Abri have a question for you:
happyness is. . . a warm alpaca.
