It’s been awhile, friends. To be honest, I have been putting so much creativity into the next project/launch that I have been feeling a bit uninspired to fill this space with anything new. And because I always want to be adding value and not just noise, I have let myself take a breather. . Do you ever go through times of creative and mental blocks? What do you do to overcome them as a professional? . P.S. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
A question I recently received was, How do you as a blogger come up with consistently good content? And of course, I don't think anyone is alone in the struggle so I am sharing my thoughts here in case it is valuable to anyone else. . Number 1: LISTEN TO YOUR AUDIENCE. It doesn't matter how big or small, listen to what they are saying or asking. Is there something that you consistently get asked? Create a questionnaire and send it to your audience asking what they find to be the most valuable info and content that you have shared. Take their answers and build on it. . Number 2: LOOK AT THE FACTS. Dive into your analytics. Become obsessed with numbers. Look back on this year and see what Google is displaying as your most popular posts. Is there additional insight you could share on these subjects? Could you give them a new twist? Could you create a new series? Dive into Pinterest analytics as well. See what your audience is responding to that you share. . Number 3: ONLY CREATE CONTENT THAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT. Don't make decisions based on popularity and what you see others doing. Forge your own path and approach every piece of content with this question: What value is this bringing to my audience? Sit down with a piece of paper and write the subjects you are most passionate about and love to talk about it in the middle of the paper. Then branch off of each one with segments or smaller pieces of it that you can create content around. . That's just my two cents anyway for what it is worth ;)
