From my front porch looking in 🎶 ~@Lonestarnow // Throwback to our first night boondocking on #BLMland! I love our changing “front porch” views, but I’m also pretty smitten with the view that’s always right in front of me. This little spot was in Grand Junction, Colorado and my #HarryPotter loving heart was geeking out because we had to take road 27 1/4 to get here, so I kind of felt like I was crossing through #platform9¾! Let’s just say this spot was pretty much a total win!
Most of the time the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you will get everything you wish for or maybe you will get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you; the road is long and in the end the journey is the destination. // Just some throwback quotes from #OneTreeHill for this little roadside amazingness we stopped to gawk at near Telluride! The drive from Grand Junction to @MesaVerdeNPS had the best views we have seen so far! Driving days are definitely some of my favorite! #EnjoytheJourney
“When God carved this place with His words He lingered” ~Charles Martin // Can you spot me?! With views like this it’s pretty easy to say that our time in Grand Junction was pretty “MONUMENTal”! Now on to Mesa Verde! Happy Monday all! Here’s to a “rocking” week ahead!! #ColoradoNationalMonument
It happened when we first left, right about a month in- and here we are again, just about a month after leaving Orlando for the second time (after going back for a wedding)... the homesickness starts to kick in// We have never lived far from family and friends, usually no more than a 30 minute drive. It’s days like today where I wonder if it’s worth it; if I really knew what I was signing on for with these dreams of adventure. FaceTime is great, but not the same; I can see their smiles, but I can’t hug their necks. It’s these days where all the gorgeous snow-capped peaks just don’t seem to compete; but then he reminds me of yesterday’s hike- or the fact that we’re trying something new together, just the two of us; something we’ve never done before. He reminds me that we will see them soon; that it’s going to be ok. He reminds me that, no matter how scary this whole thing sometimes seems, we have each other. So, while I miss everyone back “home” I also remember that with him by my side I’m truly home anywhere I go. When I’m down or worried he lifts me back up by the bootstraps- and there are days that I need to do the same for him; usually when something breaks or we’ve been working like crazy for what seems like pennies. We each have our moments, our unique weaknesses, and I am so thankful for someone balances me out and lifts me up. #WhatLiftsYou ?
