Just a picture of me prepping for my best pal’s baby shower last weekend 😬 working on putting a blog post with all the details & photos together, but I’m curious what you guys would benefit the most from? Recipes, decor, games, gifts / party favors? Everything? This was the first shower I’ve ever hosted & it was so much fun! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dress from @onelovedbabe + fun new kitchen gear from @materialkitchen 🍓 #householdmagny #householdhome @amyfrancesphoto
Didn’t get into the shower until after 11, the house is extra messy but I somehow managed to write & publish a blog post without leaning on any screen time for this kid! It might have been written in between rolling play-doh & fetching snacks but it’s up there. Swing by Household to see it’s new look + to learn how iPhone photos have actually helped my engagement on Instagram! 😘 #householdmagny
We might not have made it out of the house today, but we moved the furniture & made a giant train track and Zack and I both read (at the same time) while Owen played. Simple but special & I’m grateful for both of these guys.
Sunday reading + reminder ✨, “...if you are not staying in the present moment, you are leaving it.” Those words really struck me. They made me realize that if I did not develop a practice of staying present, I would spend my entire life leaving wherever I was. The only way we can make the most of our lives is to make the most of our moments. Today, wherever you are, decide to stay. We can know that gifts that lie in the present only if we stay in it long enough to receive them.” @cleowade
Raise your hand if you’re exhausted but really, really, really happy.
I’ve been writing and re-writing an article in my head since my chemical pregnancy and miscarriage at the end of October, but I couldn’t bring myself to actually open my laptop and type it all out. Maybe it made it more real, maybe I needed more time to process or maybe, just maybe, for the first time since I started this blog it all just felt too vulnerable and close to the heart to really dive into in the moment. Now that it’s been a couple months it officially feels real, it’s no longer something I’m trying to process the reality of and as confusing as my emotions were even just a month ago, I really feel like I’m coming out the other side. I feel a sense of clarity and strength that I really didn’t see possible the morning we lost our baby. Read the full post today on Household - link in profile. @amyfrancesphoto
✌🏻things! 1. Someone sent me a message or comment about things we do to keep this kid busy at home but I can’t find it! Our days aren't fancy, but find our list in the comments below & please add yours so we can all help each other. 😘 2. There’s a new episode of the #buildinghouseholdpodcast up where @amyfrancesphoto & I ramble about our New Years resolutions. We’re both working on some exciting changes in our businesses but it’s definitely all in the “figuring it out phase” and I’m learning to be okay with that. Link in profile!
He put himself to sleep here. 😮 #naptime #householdHOME
