Major General James Wolfe - a British Army Officer, known for his training reforms but remembered chiefly for his victory over the French at the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in Canada in 1759. His body was brought back to England with military honours and at his mother's request James was buried with his father at St Alfege's church in #Greenwich. The Prime Minister, William Pitt, called for a national monument for Wolfe and a large memorial by the sculptor Joseph Wilton was erected to him in the north ambulatory of #westminsterabbey in 1772 at a cost of £3,000.
Thank you Alistair from South London for a lovely review of my Georgian London tour: Hazel is a terrific guide and provides a really interesting insight into the Georgian period of life in London. She is extremely knowledgeable and communicates Her subject passionately. Lots to discover! I was particularly interested to see how astute she was about securing the live time information about a film shoot that was taking place enroute - great for photo opportunities and an added treat to an excellent afternoon.

Quantum Cloud by Antony Gormley - At 30 metres high, it is Gormley's tallest sculpture to date (taller than the Angel of the North). It is constructed from a collection of tetrahedral units made from 1.5 m long sections of steel. The steel sections were arranged using a computer model with a random walk algorithm starting from points on the surface of an enlarged figure based on Gormley's body that forms a residual outline at the centre of the sculpture.
