It is with heavy, sorrowful hearts today that we share the devastating news of the passing of our student, classmate and friend, Bishop DuBourg freshman Brett Haubrich. After a lengthy, tiresome battle with brain cancer, Brett died last night, January 10 at the age of 14, peacefully at home with his family by his side.⠀ ⠀ We are grateful for all the support the Bishop DuBourg school community has shown Brett’s family during this most trying time, and we thank you all for supporting our DB students, faculty and staff who have come to cherish their special relationships with this very special young man.⠀ ⠀ Please continue praying for Brett as he now begins his well-deserved journey in Heaven. Please pray for the Haubrich family: Brett’s parents Eileen and Conrad, and his siblings Olivia, Andrew and Ella as they endure their tremendous loss. Please keep the DuBourg students, faculty and staff in your thoughts as well, as we all have grown to love and care for Brett and will miss his presence, character, and school spirit each and every day.⠀ ⠀ We strive to live our movement, “Do It For Brett” in everything we do going forward. We plan to cherish one another more, care for one another more, embrace all that we have, and dismiss the things that try to bring us down – just as Brett did every day; just as he would want us to do.⠀ ⠀ Thank you, Brett, for teaching us all so much. Thank you for bringing new light to our lives. Thank you for exemplifying for us a loyal, bold, and steadfast faith in God’s love. May you receive his eternal reward. Rest in his glorious peace, dear Brett. A Cavalier Forever. #TeamBrett⠀ ⠀ Updates about arrangements for Brett will be shared as we learn them. Thank you for your prayers.
