I wanted to write this to express not only how I’m feeling, but how many are feeling, in regards to the tragic accident that took Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and the other 7 passenger’s lives yesterday. First, I want to start by saying Rest In Peace and also by extending out my condolences to the Bryant family and the rest of the families directly affected by this tragedy. Prayers up 🙏 Second, this tragedy completely blind sided the entire world. For me - I was getting ready to enjoy a day out with some friends until the news broke out; I couldn’t comprehend the exact words that I was reading regarding the accident. It wasn’t until all of the confirmations were in that it finally hit me, like a sucker punch to the gut, that One of my childhood hero’s was really gone. Consequentially, this started to really put life into perspective for me - everyday that we go on about our lives handling our daily duties and responsibilities, we take for granted how much of a true blessing it is to make it to our destinations. And how much of an even greater blessing it is to be alive another day. With that being said Hold on to your love ones a little tighter, let the people closest to you know how much they mean to you, and live everyday by striving to be the best you, as the Great Kobe Bryant would with his #MambaMentality. Today is here but tomorrow is never promised. As many of you know, basketball means so much to me, and to hear the guy who inspired not just me, but many, to approach everything you do with the #MambaMentality, was and still is utterly devastating. A man who approached his craft with the ability and the mindset to overcome any and every obstacle by any means necessary. A man who was actively passing that legacy on to his daughter Gianna. A man who was a great leader on the court and an even better father off the court. A man who was a role model to many, a role model to me. A man who inspired kids like me, to Play ball - and lock in like the Mamba, and play every game like it was our last. These were all the little things Kobe inspired many of us, especially myself, to do. This one hurts, but I know he and the other 8 souls are resting easy with God.
I’m hurt. Kobe Forever. Long live the champ. #RIPMamba
