Last night we had dinner with a woman in her 60s who grew up in the south. Her current apartment has an area that used to be a maids quarters (now converted into a kitchen expansion). When she showed her kitchen to her mother and explained its history, her mother said THOSE people were happy just to have a bathroom. This made her CRINGE, and over the past few weeks she has looked out her window at the protests - seeing people of every color, orientation and representation out on the streets together - and it brings her joy to see how far we have come. . I hope that in 30 years I can look back on today and think the same thing. Look how far we have come. . Let's keep putting in the work. I believe we can get there.
