Mornings on Lake Batur in Bali 😍
Last August, I walked along these exact same rice terraces while solo traveling in Ubud. If you had told me that a year later I would be back in Bali on assignment as Travel Editor of @CultureTrip, I wouldn't have believed it. Life is full of surprises ✨
@bawabali_official, which relies solely on donations, provides spay and neutering, rehabilitation and adoption, street feeding and rabies response and control to the dogs in Bali. If you see dogs around Ubud wearing yellow ribbons, these are BAWA dogs. Likewise if you spot restaurants in Bali with RW on the menu, they serve dog meat. You can support @bawabali_official by going to bawabali.com 🐶❤️
I spent the day with @bawabali_official in Ubud to learn about the work that they do to rescue Bali's dogs and shut down the dog meat trade on the island through local educational programs to promote animal welfare and kindness. Here I'm walking one of the 3 legged rescues through the rice paddies 🐶🌱
The sun lights up the verdant rice paddies, as I sip on a warm cup of tea and enjoy these quiet mornings in Ubud 🌱☕️
The island of Gili Trawangan is 1.5 hours from Bali by fast boat and pure paradise, with a BIG thing for sea swings and hammocks. No cars or motorbikes allowed, just bikes and horse drawn carts.
