Jill and Tim had Better Together inscribed on their wedding bands, a sentiment that was part of their vows, and how they live their lives with one another. Within a few months of dating, it was clear they had found their partner. “I wish I could say there was a specific moment when I knew I loved Tim or wanted to be his wife, but it’s really just a mix of so many moments, in both good times and bad, when we have been there to support each other,” says Jill. . Stories help us remember what’s most important in life, and photographs have the power to bring us back to those moments. When you invite me to capture your wedding day, I’m doing more than photographing the beautiful memories unfold; I’m also telling the story of your relationship. Through every element you’ve included in your celebration, to the friends and family you choose to have there supporting you, to the sweet moments you share together, I’m deeply sensitive to telling the bigger narrative. These are critical moments - ones that should be captured, celebrated, cherished. I would be so honored to tell your love story. . The wedding industry has changed a lot in the past 10 years, and I couldn't be happier that there has been a greater focus on men's style. After all, shouldn't your heart flutter a bit the first time you see your groom on your wedding day? ❤️ . I'm a big fan of a polished suit or tux; but I always love seeing a variation on the classics, too, like this navy @ikebehar with black lapels from @formallymodern_chicago. @arealboyd from @factorchosen_chi made the look his own on our shoot with @zeneventschicago by omitting a tie, and pairing it with a boutonnière from @exqdesigns and his Apple watch. I think he pulls it off perfectly! ⌚️ . What's your favorite styling trend for grooms? A unique suit jacket? A special watch? Custom cufflinks? Monogrammed cuffs? 👔👞
I never get tired of a classic skyline shot (and we have plenty of those beauties from Chris and Elinor's session), but I always love it when we find somewhere unique to add to the mix. These guys are fellow West Loopers, so for the second part of their engagement session we hopped around to some of our favorite spots in the neighborhood. // Hair and makeup by @joannabartistry . An engagement session is one of my favorite aspects of working together. It's less about capturing a perfect moment in time. (Because let's be honest - as exciting as it is to marry your partner, wedding planning can be stressful, and we all know life is not as perfect as it looks on social media.) It's so much more about documenting the beautiful season when you decided that you wanted to do life together no matter what comes your way. It's an opportunity to celebrate the beginning of your commitment to marriage, to tell the story of where you came from, and to have photos that represent the vision of what you dream together for your future. . It's also the BEST way to get to know me as your photographer and to get comfortable in front of the camera. Do you know I do engagement sessions for couples in Chicago, New York, California, and pretty much anywhere? If you want to talk more about how that all works, reach to me via the link in my profile! xo
Sometimes the simplest wedding details are the most beautiful. I could photograph white hydrangeas and @jcrew style all day long.

One of my favorite parts of a branding shoot is brainstorming with you to find a location that fits your aesthetic. Whether that's your home, your office, a café, your favorite restaurant or wine bar, or something unique that we create and style together in the studio, the venue is literally the stage for your entire shoot. This is also the aspect of the shoot that can feel overwhelming to clients, and that's why I'm here. We'll talk through your core values, your passions, and your brand aesthetic, and I'll help you find a place that suits you perfectly. . For this session, @eventswithambiance and I chose a spot in Pilsen for its street art and dance party vibes, and we settled on one of our mutual faves for the sophisticated grand finale - Restoration Hardware. The juxtaposition of both spots perfectly captured the facets of Amber's personality and brand - stylish and spunky, gritty and chic, professional to the core and always playful at heart. ❤️You can see more images from her shoot on the branding side of my site!
So excited to see that our friends @fleurinc and @cphelandesign are doing another floral design and watercolor class!! The one I photographed last year was SO much fun. Attendees learned how to create their own floral arrangements, and then Cindy instructed on how to use watercolor to paint their creations. Fleur owner, Kelly Marie, will be teaching the design portion this time (what a treat!), and it will take place at their all new studio location around the corner from the retail shop in September! 😍
Oh hey there, Chicago. You're looking pretty fine today.
