One of the first things I ask couples when we start talking is what matters most to you in the photography experience. Almost always, I hear, We want images that are classic and beautiful, but also natural. We want them to feel like US. . . Yaaasssss. 🙌🏽 I could not agree more. Your images should be absolutely gorgeous AND completely authentic. . . Things happen so quickly on a wedding day, so how can we ensure consistent, genuine images every single time? We do it by riding the delicate balance between craft and serendipity. Artistry isn’t accidental; it’s intentional and comes with great care. Finding beautiful light, framing compositions in the mind's eye, and dialing in settings for an excellent image is the start. And then it's all about anticipating that moment of pure magic captured by a single shutter click. 📷 . . The magic that happens in that split second between putting on your shoes and gathering your items before the ceremony... Between fixing your cufflinks and checking your phone one last time before the first look... Between glancing at your father as you take your first steps down the aisle to seeing your love waiting for you at the altar... That magic between exchanging rings and saying I do... Between laughing hysterically with your friends and barely composing yourselves for some group photos... Between tears and awwws while your wedding party toasts you... Between those first few steps on the dance floor to the celebration that lasts all night... . . These are the moments I live for, anticipate, and study. I think about how they will unfold so you can just be present while they're happening. I’m here to create beautiful images while you’re having the time of your life caught up in one another and making the most incredible memories. If I had you at classic AND authentic, let's chat! 🙋🏻 I'm still booking weddings for 2018, and I'd love to hear what's most important to you! Message me or reach out via the contact form on my site. 💗
Rainy, wet days like today make me incredibly grateful that Chicago has such solid backup locations for wedding day portraits and engagement sessions. While we always hope for sunshine, sometimes Mother Nature has a different plan. But it doesn't have to mean your dreams of gorgeous photos go out the window or that you have to kiss your peace of mind goodbye. I'm here to make sure we get incredible photos AND that you get to relax and be in the moment with the love of your life and the dear ones who've come to celebrate you. . . A couple months before your wedding we'll walk through your wedding day questionnaire together to go over all of the logistics of the day - including how to organize that crazy long family photo list, where to do your first look and wedding party photos, and what to do if the weather isn't looking so hot for your day. I'll be in close communication with your event planner to make sure we're on the same page with timing so that the only thing you have to worry about at your wedding is whether you're drinking champagne or gin and tonic! 🥂💕 . . I'm still booking for 2018, so if you and your partner are still looking for a photographer that just really gets you and will make the photo process easy and laid back, I'm your girl! Reach out to schedule a chat and learn more.
I’ll make the world safe and sound for you. You will come of age with our young nation; We’ll bleed and fight for you, we’ll make it right for you. If we lay a strong enough foundation, We’ll pass it on to you, we’ll give the world to you. And you’ll blow us all away. Someday, someday -Lin Manuel Miranda, Hamilton . . Cannot get over these two. They're still honeymooning, and you can catch some sneak peeks on stories today. ❤️ . . Also, can we talk about this stunning bouquet by @lifeinbloom??? She nailed their aesthetic perfectly. 😍
It's Morgan and Nick's wedding day, and I'm so thrilled to be capturing their celebration! . . When they met each other at freshman orientation, Morgan and Nick were both too shy to talk to each other. But by the time they were sophomores, they fell into a comfortable rhythm of friendship. Eventually they started dating, and when Nick went away for training, they stayed in touch by writing letters. They grew closer with each note, and their time apart was all the confirmation they needed that they wanted to spend their lives together. . . It's been a joy to get to know these sweethearts, and I'm so honored to be photographing their exchange of vows as they celebrate with their friends and family at @adlerplanet. And with a dream team of wedding pros, I know it's going to be absolutely beautiful!! @sqnevents @hmrdesigns @xohellodarling @elysiarootcakes @bsansostiartistry @theweddingdresser @fftchicago @annaditton @becca.kaufman
Al fresco dining under a dreamy tent with café lights and amazing food? Yes please! Just a week and a half ago, I photographed Chris and @elinorbrown5's beautiful wedding, and I'm so excited to see them featured on @blueplatechicago's #employeespotlight today! Elinor has been with Blue Plate for over 8 years, so it was really special to see how she and Chris worked with their executive chef and @chicagoilluminatingcompany to bring their wedding vision to life. I'm obsessed with these magnolia centerpieces and florals from @lifeinbloom, too! It was the perfect touch to a romantic end of summer wedding. Moments like these are everything. It's why I do what I do. It's why I advocate for time during your day for you to just be present together, and feel the emotions surrounding your commitment. It's why almost all of my couples have a First Look before their ceremony. . . A First Look isn't just a formality to jump through before getting to the rest of the photos or the ceremony. It's a sacred space we create for you and your partner to ground yourselves in the beauty and significance of the day. When you are intentional about your time together, it's a way to savor the most authentic and meaningful moments. My hope is that the images I capture of your tenderness and affection will be anchor points that bring you back to those powerful emotions for years to come. . . If this sounds like the kind of approach you'd appreciate for your wedding photography experience, I'd love to connect!
