“The purpose of an olive tree is to produce olives. But an olive picked too soon and under-processed is so hard and bitter, you will spit it out of your mouth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The olive must be cleaned and cured. It’s quite a process to get rid of hardness and bitterness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The human heart is much the same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Suffering softens us. It can be breaking but it can also be curing. It makes us more empathetic to remember grace and truth hold hands. It helps us respond more graciously to others. And suffering can make us more eager to forgive those who are still hard and bitter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And never forget what is most valuable isn’t the actual fruit itself. It’s when the olive that’s suffered a crushing blow brings forth oil that can be turned into a glorious light. That’s most beautiful of all.” ➖ Quote and caption: @lysaterkeurst
If you haven't been told this yet today, here's some truth for you — You are fully known and still, deeply loved. He is the one your heart was made to be truly loved by. He is always always always enough. ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #happyvalentinesday | image by: @senecaryanco
I think we sometimes forget- this is all a process. No matter how much it seems like people have it together, we're all just in the process. Rough drafts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; and all of us are the work of Your hand. — Isaiah 64:8 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let's give a little more grace to each other and ourselves today. It's all just a process and sometime growth looks different then we expect it to be. 🤍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Quote: @bobgoff
We’ve all heard the quotes, “find your tribe and love them hard”. We know all about #squadgoals. But what does it really mean to be a community??? 🤍 In Exodus 17, the Israelites were encountering their first battle with their enemies while in the wilderness. During the battle, Moses was standing above the valley where the battle was happening holding up the rod. While his arms were raised, the Israelites would begin to win the battle, but if he let down his hands the enemy would start to win the battle. But after hours of the battle being fought, Moses simply wasn’t able to hold up his arms and more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 〰️ Enter Aaron and a guy named Hur. They dragged over a rock for Moses to sit on (ya gotta do with what you’ve got when you’re in the wilderness) and then they each took an arm and lifted them up. And they held his arms up, high and steady until the sun went down. The battle was won because Moses didn’t go at it alone. 🙌🏻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That’s what it means to be community. That’s the power of surrounding yourself with people who will fight with you, who will lift your arms when you just can’t do it anymore, who will always bring you back to the Cross. 🤍 ✨ Tag the friends you know are always holding up your arms in the battle of life!
