I made some super quick pickled radishes yesterday as part of a Katsu curry recipe from @meerasodha’s latest book, East. It’s the first time I’ve made Katsu curry and it was really delicious, served with panko-baked aubergine on the side. I highly recommend any of Meera Sodha’s recipe books for faultless and easy vegan dishes. And the pickled radishes make a great accompaniment to other meals too. I had them with breakfast this morning - a great way to start the weekend! #pickledradishes #veganuary #meerasodha #veganeats #vegankatsucurry #weekendsathome #quickpickles #whatveganseat #veganbreakfast #plantbased
I recently finished Three Women by Lisa Taddeo - a book that I couldn’t put down once I’d picked it up. . I didn’t realise until I started reading that it was telling the accounts of three real women, which put me in mind of some of the books by Dave Eggers, in which stories are gathered through real life interviews and then beautifully retold, so that at times the true narrative feels more like fiction. . These stories are raw and confiding, eloquently laying bare many intimate details about each woman’s emotional and sexual past, and the different relationships that have impacted their lives, both for the better, and unfortunately more often, for the worse. . Altogether, this feels like something quite unique - these women have been given a voice through this book, and it’s been used to share their experiences in an unfiltered and open way. . . . . . . #threewomen #lisataddeo #bookstagram #instareads #instabooks #bookworm #bookish #minibookreview #booksofmyyear #goodreads #debbiehillbooks #booksreadbyme2020
