WEDDING TIP WEDNESDAY MINIMIZE YOUR LOCATIONS: I saw this tip on a blog and loved it. When deciding on where you want to get married, think about travel time. Even if you plan 2 hours for portraits in between your ceremony and reception, if travel time takes 30 minutes each way, you’re really limiting the amount of amazing portraits you’ll have taken. Look for reception venues around your church or look for cool, interesting portrait locations in between the two. You can even take portraits at either location. Even if you don’t like a lot of the background options, a good photographer will know how to still get amazing shots. Better yet, choose a gorgeous location where you can do ceremony, portraits, and reception. Some of my favorites include @orchard_ridge_farms, @standardonstate, @dcestatewinery, @williamstreefarm, @kilbuckcreek, @overthevineswi, @barnonthehill, @psbrewhouse, and @starlinefactoryweddings! WEDDING TIP WEDNESDAY INVITE/THANK YOU ETIQUETTE: I am going to start out by saying this tip is strictly my opinion. You have been warned! I’ve had a few different discussions with friends lately about what is and what is not appropriate when it comes to wedding invites and writing thank you cards. Because I am old-fashioned, I beg you not to create a FB group instead of sending physical invitations. I know, I know, it’s the best way to get on someone’s calendar, but I still can’t help but feel the tackiness. I could maybe understand sending the invite and then creating the event for RSVP purposes. I don’t know. Just thinking about it makes me shake my head… And just real quick, because it did spark a sort of debate amongst friends, I think thank you cards for a wedding are still a must. Attending a wedding is expensive these days, and your guests have done and paid it all just to celebrate something huge in your life. A simple, personalized thank you card can make all the difference in the world. Just do it, and don’t wait six months either! #endrant Want more tips?
