I took a couple weeks off of Instagram (man, it felt good!) & I realized that when I download the app again, I want to be more conscious of my scroll. Here’s yet another photo me on a hike. Most of the people I follow look like me & post similar pics. I don’t want to see only photos & stories from people like me with similar backgrounds. I like to follow a general theme of travel & outdoor adventure so I found some really cool people who inspire me. People who have different bodies, views, values & experiences from my own. Here are a few of the accounts I recently discovered. I’m so excited to read their stories, learn from them, support them & follow along on their adventures. Brittany Leavitt, @bleavitt8 Chelsea Murphy, @she_colorsnature Emilé Zenobia, @curlsinthewild Faith E. Briggs, @faithevebee Kareemah Batts, @herhopness Mélise Edwards, @Meliseymo Nikki Smith, @pullphoto Sam Ortiz, @samortizphoto This is just a start. I’m always open to more inspiration & recommendations!
Had to initiate a “No Buy May” to only buy things I really need because spending during the stay-at-home order got a liiiittle out of control. But this canoe we found for a great deal on Facebook Marketplace is a total necessity. 🛶 / #LakeAnna
Hiking during this pandemic. YES or NO? There’s no guidebook we can follow that tells us exactly how to act right now. I haven’t been hiking (𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨) but I have been walking on some nature trails in my community. I don’t know what’s right or wrong & I’m not here to criticize anyone’s choices, but I do know that I’d like to visit these White Mountains again someday! 🏔 / #VisitNH + #WhiteMountains
This time last month I was wearing a mask for a very different reason. ❄️ / #JacksonHole Speaking of masks, here are 3 mask-related updates in my life: 1️⃣ I’ve donated to @masksformedicinedc. I trust the person organizing this effort & it supports healthcare workers in my local area. 2️⃣ I recently bought a 12-pack of cloth masks online from @customink. They’re still available! 3️⃣ I used the bandana + hair tie tutorial to make masks for a Costco shopping trip last Sunday. So easy & served their purpose! (Swipe to last video to see! 😷)
