#viewfrommyoffice today 😍 Also, this is actually not staged at all, I actually just set my coffee cup down and was struck by how crazy pretty this is. This week we're in Baltimore and we're staying in a building built in 1900 in a little 450sf apartment, with a VIEW!! What's everyone doing today? I'd love to hear where you're located!
Hold the phone! Out of all the cool celebrities who were in Austin while we were there, GRUMPY CAT had to have been THE coolest!! 😍😍😍 @therealgrumpycat in Austin! Now if only we had gone to SXSW 😭
So, I don't know how many of you guys know this, buuuuuut.... I'm kind super woo woo. Something that I've been really passionate about lately has been tarot cards. I say that almost ashamedly, but i think what I find myself most passionate about is not necessarily tarot itself, but that tarot is of those things that I find unjustly stigmatized. In fact, I almost always read for business use 😊 There's nothing religious about it, I don't worship the devil, cards aren't inherently bad - even the scary ones (though, some decks do totally scare me, haha). It's simply a medium that I find useful and creative when doing thought exercises. Anyway, I share this random thought because one thing that I absolutely love about tarot is the different artistic interpretations. Some decks are So. Incredibly. Beautiful. and as a designer, I find it sad that so many people miss out on the beauty of some of these decks due to then taboo of psychic/fortune/magic readings! So, here's one that I just purchased by @uusidesignstudio 😍 The entire deck (78 cards) are prints of hand crafted oil paintings. They're gorgeous and I just had to share this morning's reading with you guys (still to be interpreted, haha) I'm not sure how well received this will be on here, but if people are interested, I'd love to share my thoughts on tarot readings and how I find them enlightening for business and general mindfulness, especially doing them for yourself 😊🙏
Kelly and I have just started a school specifically for people who want to start their own businesses. It's a school for people who aren't sure how to take the leap to the freedom that they're dreaming about. It a resource library for veteran creative entrepreneurs who want a second opinion and references on how they can progress even further. It's a resource library for Creative Business Accounting and Legalese - both of which are lacking. What we're MOST EXCITED about, though, is the goal to get women to look outside of MLM. We see the value in MLM, don't get me too wrong here - I did two of them. They have some amazing tips for sales, however, the value pretty much stops there. This school is serving a market gap. It's the gap that women get stuck in. They're stay at home moms who want their own money. They're young women who want their own business. They're where we were about 5 years ago. We want to give these women the resources to CREATE their own businesses. To show them that they have everything at their fingertips that they need to build their own business, not to work at a Direct Sales venture that pays less than minimum wage for 60 hour weeks. For the same price as a direct sales kit, we will be giving these women a full course that includes EVERYTHING that she would need to start her business from the ground up, including helping her to figure out WHAT she wants to do. For FREE, we will give her EVERYTHING we can offer in terms of resources that we've used to grow our own businesses, worksheets and planners to get organized, blog posts about our own experiences and advice that we're able to offer. Kelly and I together have an insane amount of knowledge to give (#humblebrag hahaha) and a huge drive to give people the opportunities that we've had ourselves. We know that we lead a unique life, but we also know that it doesn't need to be unique. It's accessible to SO many people, and for so many people, all it takes is having the playbook all in one place to make it happen. Thank you for listening to our mission! If you'd like to follow along: @workathomebs . If you'd like to help support the movement, we would love for you to email us ❤
YOU GUYS!!! Okay, soo... Kelly and I have a secret that we're now officially sharing and I'm excited/nervous/giddy/soanxiousifeellikeimgoingtocry. Okay, so here goes. Over the past week, Kelly and I had this idea. Actually, we had this idea a while ago, but something suddenly clicked and it was like a waterfall/avalanche (choose your own visual 😂) of inspiration had just come over us all of a sudden and we knew everything that needed to happen and suddenly......! We have a new business in place. And right now, it looks nice, though the walls are all still settling from being put together so quickly. Blog posts I'm sure all all kinds of janky and courses aren't up yet (though Kelly's just about finished an Accounting for Creative Businesses one and we're both psyched about it - it's pure gold y'all (AH!! Texas is taking over me!)), and before this ramble gets too long, here's what we just launched: [Continued in next post 😉🤗]
This is totally not a relevant picture (though, if you've had struggles - everyday is a blank slate! Start over today 🙏), but WE'RE GOING TO THE RODEO tonight in Austin! Watch out Texas, the Pacific Northwest is in the house (and feeling totally insecure and out of place, where is the unsweetened tea)! 🌲😂
Yet another throwback to a favorite logo design of ours for the lovely @daniellysboutique ! This was our first rose gold logo and it still makes me so happy to look at when stumbling across it in our portfolio 😍😍
GUESS WHAT?!?!?? We just booked one way tickets to Barcelona for October! Yesterday there was a mistake price from Oakland and LA to Barcelona for dirt cheap and, assuming the airline honors it, we are officially going to Europe later this year 😱😱😱😱 I'm. So. Excited!!!! Does anyone have any #traveltips on going abroad from the US? Even better: tips for traveling with three small kids 😅? Digital nomadism ftw!
