Packing up the prints to this wedding I came across this image and it brought back a lot of great memories of the day and the trip and my love overall for the bay area. There is only one place that competes for room in my heart with the desert and its San Francisco.
Nights like this make me fall in love with the desert all over again

How has it already been a year! Happy 1st Anniversary! This time last year we were all packed into a school bus and made the trek up a narrow winding road all the way up to Mount Tamalpais, high above the clouds, high above San Francisco, one of my most favorite cities. It was such an incredible adventure - hope you two are celebrating big! If I were there now, you'd find me drinking wine and having a picnic on top of an old barrack in the presidio, while looking at one of the most beautiful views in California.
Looking at this photo I am realizing how deceiving it must be cos we all nearly broke our faces climbing onto this rock jetty and Jenny grabbed her big beautiful dress and climbed all the way up and out like a pro with Matthew making fun of me saying I looked like I was having the hardest time of all (easy for one to say who hasn't had as many near broken asses as I have) But hey, look at that sky and water and a moment of still for these two who just got married. Worth the struggle for sure.
...and we're takin' off again!! We will be in the Adirondacks / New York for a week or so - who's up for a shoot in the woods with me? DM and let’s make it happen - thinking I’ll only be shooting film!
about that sunset. yes it was for real. This couple has traded the West coast for the East coast and I am so excited I get to go to Williamsburg, Virginia for this sweet couple's big day. You know what that means for us: Roadtrip!!
oh heyyyy back to work for me (not that I stopped but well you know, girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do and hit the road when the temperature reads INFERNO in the desert) while I'm weeping a bit inside on the last month of summer I am incredibly happy to see my friends off and happily wedded beginning this weekend. Headed to the beach this week for one hell of a wedding so.... byezzzz!
I’m a little late sharing this since I’ve been on the road but happy to say this desert adventure elopement has been published (check out the blog to see their ceremony taking place in a hot air balloon!!) Thank you @offbeatbride - link in profile! This wedding was a super adventure - as I didnt know what to expect with a hot air balloon - pinterest and all those pretty styled shoots were a bit deceptive as the weather and other factors of the day determined locations - so taking off and landing weren't determined by photogenic locations - definitely something to keep in mind! With a hot air balloon, mother nature rules all.
what I love about elopements is that we can get into the car and get lost and get all wanderlusty in the desert. There are so many places to see and so many roadside oddities to explore between Palm Springs to El Centro. Bombay Beach, Salvation Mountain..to Calexico. Huell Howser is obviously my guide in spirit and heart.
but its a dry heat this is what someone told me when I went to pick up some vintage furniture out in San Diego the other day. Its all I've been thinking about the past few days since we are hibernating from the weather. Counting down the days before we head to NY!! Speaking of which - who wants to shoot in the Adirondacks with me?! Send me PM. Let's run away to the woods together. I just might go missing and stay there.
Suns out buns out. Getting frisky in Joshua Tree
