Today I interrupt your regularly schedule cute, curated, and carefully planned instagram feed photos for an update on my well being. As many of you know, I live in the town where the mass shooting took place on Wednesday night, where two huge wildfires broke out on Thursday, and where is still under insane evacuation notices and one of the fires has grown to over 70,000 acres. I never thought that the first time I'd be back at my Alma Mater post-graduation would be for a service at the chapel grieving for the friends we lost in a mass shooting. You may have heard about the fires through local celebrities who had to evacuate their houses such as Kim Kardashian, or well known places that are burning like the Bachelor Mansion or Paramount Ranch. But the fear and danger travels so much father than that. As of this morning, over 250,000 residents in my area are under mandatory or voluntary evacuations. I, myself, am under voluntary right now. We woke up at 3am yesterday morning and packed. We are ready, but we are still here. Many many of my friends have been evacuated, some multiple times from different locations. Some of them have received news that their houses did not make it. The rest are still waiting anxiously. Yes, we're used to wildfires here in Southern California... The smell of smoke and the feeling of the Santa Ana winds is as much a part of our winter as the smell of Christmas trees. But this one, this is different. I've lived here my whole life and I've seen quite a few wildfires, but none that have displaced this many people in my own hometown or that has burned this many structures. Let alone the fact that this is the second tragedy to strike our community in less then 24 hours from the first. We are scared. We are sad. We are still grieving but trying to be vigilant and attentive. Our community is forever changed. Please know that this disaster strikes so so so much farther than the Kardashians and the Bachelor mansion. Please know that people I love and care for are absolutely terrified. That people I love and care for have lost their best friends, and their houses. #WOOLSEYFIRE

The Sunday Scaries got nothing on me 😏 Preparing for the week ahead through meal prepping, medication organizing, deep cleaning my bedroom, giving myself a facial and a manicure, and taking time to relax allows me to face Monday without fear. What is your Sunday night routine?

What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we have. ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Cheesy post alert: this guy has been working his behind off lately - working 7 days a week, getting home from work at 4am most nights, taking every opportunity available for the sake of our future, and still being incredibly supportive and loving through it all.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm so grateful for him every day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #danthonie
