Hummus is one of our go-to snacks around here! I've had several great recipes over the years, but so far, this one is our absolute favorite!! Ina Garten never disappoints and her ratios with this hummus are perfect😋 4 garlic cloves 2 cups canned chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt 1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste) 6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons) 2 tablespoons water or liquid from chickpeas * 1 tsp Cumin * sprinkle of Paprika I tossed it all in the Vita-mix and blended about 30 seconds. Now the trick is to make it last more than 24 hours🙈😄 * my own additions #nourishedkitchen #nourishedbykate #healthystartsathome #healthysnacking #inagarten
On the menu tonight: simple lettuces-wrapped turkey burgers (+ mustard, avocado and claussen pickles😋) It's a perfect, not-too-heavy meal for the beginning of hot, hot days ahead! #nourishedkitchen #nourishedbykate
In to the oven they go😋 These stuffed peppers have become a favorite go-to on meatless nights! Top with a little avocado and dinner is served. #healthystartsathome #nourishedkitchen #nourishedbykate
A can of this + simple Asian chopped salad (both from Costco!) = quick Friday night dinner! I don't know about you, but by Friday, I'm over cooking😩 I always keep a package of Harvest Creek's chicken on hand for quick, no-cook meals like these. It's delicious and free of preservatives (just chicken, water & salt) #nourishedbykate #nourishedkitchen #healthystartsathome
My 4 yo has a strange obsession with broccoli, so I capitalized on it this morning with a veggie + ham scramble! Her first response was Mom, that's a dinner thing, but she ate every last bite so I'm calling it a #momwin🙌 One of my favorite ways to get my kiddos to eat more fruits & veggies is letting them help pick out what looks good to them. They are always more inclined to try new things if they've had a say in it (aren't we all!) How do you get more veggies into your day? #nourishedkitchen #nourishedbykate #healthystartsathome #healthykids
Fajitas are on the menu tonight! Tell me we're not the only ones who could eat Mexican every night😄 This is my favorite fajita seasoning recipe, it's so easy & you likely have all the ingredients on hand! Goodbye pre-made seasoning packets👋 ¼ cup Chili Powder 2 tablespoons Sea Salt 2 tablespoons Paprika 1 tablespoon Onion Powder 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder 1 tablespoon Cumin Powder 1 teaspoon Cayenne Powder(optional) Mix it all together and store in an airtight container. Use approx. 1 tsp per piece of chicken or steak when making fajitas. #nourishedbykate #nourishedkitchen #healthystartsathome
Not your Grandma's bowl of oatmeal! Coconut oil & fresh cherry puree mixed in give these oats the perfect creamy consistency and hint of sweetness🍒 Bonus: my kiddos love it, too!
