These two at their school Christmas program made my heart swell. 💗
Our Christmas tree is filled with memories of places we have been and crafts the kids have made over the years. Last year we wrapped the fully decorated tree up in garbage bags and moved it into the basement, and this year we just brought it up and unwrapped it. I thought it was absolutely brilliant! But, I also secretly missed talking over all the ornaments as we put them on the tree. Today, I caught them looking at all the individual ornaments and remembering, so I'm good now!
This makes me smile and also feel a little misty. We used to bake together so much before little sister became so interested in it. Before this, it had maybe been two years since I'd baked an entire recipe with my son. He admitted he had fun, which is a big declaration for this 11-year-old. (I conceded to lots of taste tests this time, so that probably helped.) I look forward to another opportunity.
11 for my son-shine! My kids are one day + four years apart. I feel like we've been partying for a week..because we pretty much have!
