#TBT this day in Vienna when we didn't realize it was Sunday and everything would be closed. But there's something so lovely about empty alleys in Europe, isn't there? What do you love about European cities? #idaliaphotographytravels
I love when couples incorporate heirlooms on their wedding day, like Jaime's grandfather's 1947 Willys Jeepster. ❤️ What heirlooms will you include in your wedding? I'd love to know! #CIOFFTHEMARKET #idaliaphotographyweddings
Loving re-living Lindsay and Andrew's wedding day as I unboxed and inspected their wedding album earlier today! You can view the behind-the-scenes in my InstaStory. These two are about to celebrate one year of marriage in a couple of weeks and they'll be welcoming their baby girl this coming March! 👏 I love the thought of her looking through this album some day and imagining herself as a bride, too. ❤️ Congrats, Lindsay and Andrew!!
It would take me days to summarize my entire experience at the #ShowitUnited conference last week. But it took me just a second to identify my biggest takeaway and guess what? My biggest takeaway has nothing to do about our business, but everything to do about us. Head to the blog at the link in bio to read all about my aha moment at last week's conference - I shared a little bit of my heart in hopes that it inspires you in your own life! A little wedding day shoe inspiration for your Sunday evening, courtesy of @jimmychoo and our bride, Melissa. 😍 You're welcome! #1inaMILLY #idaliaphotographyweddings
This is me, on the last day of #ShowitUnited2017! I couldn't possibly describe my experience over the last few days in a caption but I'm feeling super inspired and thankful for the life and opportunities I've been given. There's nothing like surrounding yourself with amazing like-minded creatives who aren't afraid to be vulnerable in order to inspire others to fulfill and protect their passions. I know most of our followers are fellow photographers so if you've never been to a conference that will ignite your heart and soul, mark your calendars for next November! And now, off to the airport because I miss my husband! ❤️ Photo by my friend @ashleymacphotographs
When John proposed to Lauren, he took her out to see a play before they met up with friends at Hoboken's Pier A. Here’s what happened next: John then asked them if they could take a picture of us in front of the passing sailboats. Since John never asks to take pictures anywhere (it’s always my doing), I knew immediately that something was up. He started to pull me close and whisper things into my ear like how much he loved me and how he wanted to be with me for the rest of his life. He then went down on one knee and I was shaking and crying so much, his question and my response are still pretty blurry. I even had to double check afterwards that I said yes! After he put the ring on my finger, I started to ask him so many questions like how long has he been planning this, who knows already, did he ask my father for permission, etc. Our friends who were meeting us there knew and the belated birthday present was actually an engagement present. They were there to capture the moment for us and share a bottle of champagne at the restaurant. After a delicious dinner, we met up with more of our friends at our favorite bar, which also ended up being a part of our engagement photos. More from their love story on the blog today, including more photos of them with their furbaby, Foxy! Link in bio. #idalialovestory
Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” Anthony J. D'Angelo. 🙌🏻 Day One of #ShowitUnited2017 flew by (check out my stories for a peek into the day!) and I'm so thankful for such an amazing opportunity to learn and be inspired at my favorite photography conference. Ready for Day Two! But first, here's another favorite from Devin and Bobby's engagement session. Can we say romantic?
Just one of my many favorites from Devin and Bobby's engagement session! And boy do I have an amazing proposal story for you today! Devin and I planned our Greece trip in February of 2017. I was thinking that this would be the perfect place to propose. I purchased the ring a month prior to our trip and was really nervous about traveling with it. I knew that Santorini would be the most romantic location, and it was the second stop on our itinerary. I hid the ring in my backpack and hoped for the best. Making it through TSA was the first hurdle. Then making it to Athens where we climbed to the top of the Acropolis, all while the ring was inside my bag, was nerve wracking. Devin being the nosy person she is kept asking why I was carrying my backpack in the 105 degree heat and checking it nonstop, making sure the zipper was always closed. Little did she know there was a big surprise in store. A five hour ferry later, we arrived in Santorini. I was ready to find the perfect location. As we got dressed for dinner, I asked Devin to wear a dress I know she loved. As we walked from our hotel in Imerovigli we came upon the caldera overlooking the ocean. We walked for a bit while I searched for the perfect location as well as a person to capture our photo. Since it was hard to plan a photographer from abroad, I had to hope I'd find someone willing to help. After walking for what felt like forever, I found a beautiful hotel rooftop overlooking the caldera. As luck would have it, there was another American couple there taking photos. I asked the husband if he would mind taking a photo for us. He took a few and I asked if he would take one more. I then went into my bookbag to grab the ring. Devin was confused about what I was getting, and when she saw the ring box, all she managed to say was shut up! before she started crying. We really lucked out with that couple though - it turns out he took about 30 pictures for us. After she said yes! we enjoyed a nice glass of champagne before calling our families. Also, this proposal happened on June 30th, the day that Jay and I celebrated our wedding anniversary =) Favorite day! #idalialovestory
Today I'm trading in this rainy day for the desert!! I'm off to Arizona for a few days for the annual #ShowitUnited conference and I can't wait! Looking forward to a whole four days full of inspiration and learning while catching up with industry friends. I know I'm terrible at Instastories but I’m trying to be better this week! Stay tuned!
