It's the weekend! And a very grey and rainy one from the looks of it. Here's a much brighter photo from our trip to @belvoircastle earlier this year. It's been a good week - a nice mix of doing baby things and being productive. I did lots of batch cooking so that I have a good freezer stash of food for her - am trying to give her more meat as I lean towards more veggie cooking! Hope everyone has nice weekend plans. We are off to see friends in Gloucester today so I need to get packing - just waiting for Flo bear to go down for her nap and it'll be all systems go!
Today, Chris looked after Florence whilst I had a sister date with Jess. It was so nice. We went to @wagamama_uk for katsu curry and then spent ages in Boots just trying loads of makeup (we both went overboard with glitter) and Tiger. It felt so novel to just be able to relax and eat my food or browse a shop without worrying. I have found that since having a baby I definitely appreciate the more simple moments in life!
A bowl of Lucky Charms is a must when in Florida! I only had one bowl over the holiday as usually I go all out and eat them every day, and my stomach does not thank me! Hope everyone has had lovely long weekends. It's been amazing having Chris off for three days and today was so productive - we did lots in the house and garden. I am knackered now and heading to bed very soon 😴
Gosh, it's been a while. My intention to post every day on holiday failed miserably 😂 but it was so nice to just chill (as much as you can with a baby anyway) and make the most of being away. I'm going to share a few more holiday photos - this was feeding Florence in one of the waterparks. She was snuggled under a towel and fell asleep and I enjoyed just sitting in the Florida warmth watching the world go by!
9 months old today! Can't believe it's been 3/4 of a year with our new little bestie. Every week she is treating us to new tricks. Since being in Florida she has learnt to wave, clap and dance - I think this means holidays more often?!
DAY 3. We had a lovely lazy morning enjoying the pool before going to Publix for a few bits, and to Wal-Mart for a box of Krispy Kremes (so cheap here!). Later in the afternoon we went to Disney Springs which was great and had such a fun vibe. We had food at the Earl of Sandwich and did some shopping - Florence loved Sephora (that's my girl!). Florence is a baby who is a stickler for her bedtime (and isn't wanting to sleep in her pram) so she got very overtired and ended up screaming the whole way home, which was a joy for us all! No more evening outings for the Flobear for a while!
DAY 2. Florence was back to her normal self yesterday which was lovely. In the morning we spent lots of time in the villa pool which tired her out and meant she had a 2.5 hour nap- winner! In the afternoon we went to Premium Outlets and did some shopping - she sat in her pram for most of it but did get quite hot and bothered and resisted sleeping as there are was so much to look at. The heat is definitely an adjustment for her! I bought some lovely @timberland sandals but was very restrained. I did want to buy everything in Kate Spade 😍 We got back in the early evening and Florence had another swim before going down for bed and we had dinner and played Scattegories. Love playing games on holiday.
DAY 1. I took this photo yesterday morning when Florence and I sat on the patio and watched the sun coming up - three years ago Chris and I got engaged in Florida so it was surreal to be sat there with my 8 month old! We spent our first day just chilling at the villa and adjusting to the new time zone (5 hours behind). Florence slept 7-6.30 the first night with a couple of hours where we were both awake at 2.30. We had some swims in the pool but Florence started flagging around lunchtime and was resisting naps and not eating much - think her body clock was so confused. She started flagging around her UK bedtime but it really helped taking her out by the pool into the sunlight and watching the others swimming. Seemed to perk her up and she had lots of dinner and went down to sleep easily. The great thing about having a villa is that once they're in bed you can properly chill with no jobs to do! Have read a few chapters of a new book and played a game with the fam before bed at 8.30 🤣
