Dreaming of this beautiful honeymoon session in Kauai! Does anyone want to take me back?!
Sooo, you know how I talked about living a life you love the other day?⠀ ♥️⠀ Well, I'm currently living a life I love, and I'm always thinking ahead and planning the next big thing, whether it be relating to business, life, or travel. But what I've always wondered about is where I would be & what I'll be doing in 20+ years, because my body physically can't handle another 400+ weddings at the rate I'm going. Who's with me?! ⠀ 😅⠀ After we've gown our family and settled into a new norm, I just wonder about what's next. I don't know about you, but I pretty much have the next 10-20 years planned out in my mind, unless God has another plan for me, of course I'll do my best to adapt. But what about after that?! I've always been curious, because I had NO clue. Until....⠀ 😬⠀ Over the last 4 days now, me & my friend @allisondavisweddings think we have it all sorted out. We've created a 22 page business plan with literally YEARS worth of content and probably our future exit strategy for both of our companies.⠀ 🙌🏻⠀ I've been in hustle mode for several weeks, but this puts the cherry on top with running one business & starting another. I can't wait for what's to come and the future we have planned thus far and look forward to seeing what God's going to with this new adventure. I'm prayerful & hopeful!⠀ 🙏🏻⠀ Is anyone curious as to what the plan is? If so, let me know! I may share a little bit about it this week!
This is a slightly different Friday introduction, but I've got an honest question here tonight: Does anyone not love the life they live? If your answer was yes, then what are you doing to change the things you don't love about your life? ❓ I was listening the song Vacation by Dirty Heads on my playlist today and actually read the lyrics instead of blaring it in my car this time. It's funny to me how true this is for anyone! 🌴 Take note: 'A-a-aye, I'm on vacation Every single day 'cause I love my occupation. If you don't like your life, then you should go and change it.' My input: Don't waste time doing something you don't love - go get out there and WORK for what you WANT! 💪🏼 He goes on to say: 'Everybody sour like a lemon tree I'm just smiling down upon my enemies Do this sh*t, I love it on the daily You say you hate your job, but you'll never leave But that ain't gonna be me, that ain't gonna be me My brother called me up said he saw me on TV I said, it wasn't easy, but right now I'm living breezy Build this engine from the ground up. Now my hands they ain't so greasy, feel me?' 💻 People will get jealous, try & take you down, but what they don't know is that they could be living a life they loved if they put the effort into it. Dreams take YEARS of hard work, sweat, and probably some tears. He talks about more of this in the song, so you'll have to give it a listen! But I just wanted to share this with you because I've been there! It may look like my life is easy & always fun with all the travel I do, but I promise, it hasn't always been that way, and I still have 15 hour days sometimes, which I hope to lessen soon! 😅 I want to know your thoughts! Do you see so much truth in the lyrics? Have you been there, done that? Are you in the midst of making a great life for yourself & your family? Slide into my DM if you want to talk in detail! ♥️ Thank you for taking my photo too @jaimepmurata
I met a couple who had taken a helicopter ride on each island in Hawaii & they said that Kauai was THE best one of them all! I still can't get over how beautiful Kauai is from helicopter! Wow, truly an unbelievable experience & I'm so thankful to have had the chance to see untouched land from this viewpoint!⠀ 🏝⠀ Swipe right to see some of my faves from the heli!⠀ 📷⠀ And if you get a chance to go to Kauai, this was the best thing we did, and we did almost everything you could do in a week! ⠀
I can't tell you how many people have asked me about these photos and how I got someone to book me while they were on their honeymoon. 😜 In all honestly, I met this adorable couple IN Kauai, even though they're from San Antonio, TX, just a few hours south of me! We actually started talking right after our helicopter tour on the van ride from the airport, back to our cars with @jackharterhelicopters (which was the best experience, btw)!! They mentioned they were there on their honeymoon & I offered to do a session for them to commemorate these memories on such a beautiful island for them! 🏝 So we planned out the session together, I told them where I had in mind and we made it happen one morning before leaving the island! I'm so thankful I met them & that they feel blessed by these pictures! We has a blast during the session & had snow cones, chai, & pineapple lemonade throughout! 📷 If you're a photographer, note that sometimes it takes meeting strangers on an island to add pictures like these to your portfolio & IG feed. But hey, you've gotta show what you WANT to photograph and since I want to do more destination work, here you go!
After @audrr and I made our mom’s dream trip to Hawaii happen, we're currently on a layover in Seattle, headed back home today. I think it's SO important to make time for a getaway, time with friends & family, and time for yourself, which is why I travel so much. Because when I'm home, I tent to put work first. Work is so important to me too, so it's sometimes difficult to step away when I'm in town, when I live at my office, literally. 🏝 So tell me, when is the next time you're giving yourself a break? Are you headed out of town soon or did you spend time off during the holidays? ✈️ Just remember, in order not to get burnt out, you must put yourself ahead of work.
I've seen so many friends newly engaged and have had so many inquiries for 2019 & 2020! It's crazy 2020 is next year...anyone else with me?! 💍 If you're recently engaged or know someone who is, tag them (or yourself) below! For any referral who books their wedding with me, YOU will receive a COMPLIMENTARY mini session!! I'm so excited for what's to come this year & would love to hear from you! 🎉
I'm SO missing these cherries from Seattle at Pike Place Market, they're called Rainier Cherries and they are the best! I hope they're in season while I'm there again for a layover before heading back home this coming week! Fingers crossed I'll be able to have some more this year.

Did you know those waves were over 8 feet tall?! They were so intense, I saw someone pose for a picture with their back facing the ocean. A few seconds later, the water nearly came to hear knee! There were so many warning signs about these deals waves, I don't think everyone paid attention. 😱 Stay safe out there, friends! Have you experienced anything like this where you could see something bad about to happen but you couldn't stop it?
