During September, the Emergency Food Bank celebrates its 50th anniversary of providing a safety net of food to low-income individuals and families throughout Stockton and San Joaquin County. We will hold a special birthday party on Friday, Sept. 28 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at our facility, 7 W. Scotts Avenue. Friends are invited to take a tour, meet our staff and board members, and learn about all we do to support our community. Plus, enjoy some light refreshments and desserts. Thank you for your continued support of the Emergency Food Bank!
Today is the last day of a month-long Grocery Outlet promotion for the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin County. Purchase a $5 bag of food for the Food Bank, and receive a $5 coupon off at the Grocery Outlet store on Wilson Way and Waterloo in Stockton. Pictured is CEO Rick Brewer being interviewed in front of the Grocery Outlet by Lani Q of KWIN radio. The Emergency Food Bank needs community partners such as Grocery Outlet – shout out to owner Bobby McGhee, his family and employees – and KWIN to continue helping people who need food for their home pantries.
The Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin would like to thank the Central Valley chapter of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) for once again playing host to its annual charity golf tournament. Held Monday, July 16, at the Stockton Golf and Country Club, more than 130 golfers teed it up for a good cause – the Emergency Food Bank. This is one of our major fundraising events of the year, and we can’t thank the great people of NAIFA enough for continuing to make EFB its beneficiary.
Local business and individual donations are the true backbone of the Emergency Food Bank. In fact, local donors provide more than 70% off all our income. Today, Ron Van De Pol of Van De Pol Petroleum stopped by our office to deliver a donation on behalf of his company. We can’t thank companies such as Van De Pol enough. Pictured form left to right are EFB Board Chairman Brian Heck, Ron Van De Pol, EFB Board Member (and Van De Pol employee) Vanessa Van Raub-Tim, and CEO Rick Brewer. Thank you Van De Pol family and company for believing in the mission of the Food Bank! • • • • • #communitysupport#VanDePolPetroleum#EFB

The Emergency Food Bank Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Ray Call has accepted the position of Interim Executive Director. Ray’s primary focus during this transition time with the Food Bank is to find the most qualified leader to assume the Executive Director position that was left vacant with the untimely passing of Mike Donaghy.
Services for Mike Donaghy are as follows: Friday 1/12: Viewing at Cherokee Memorial 831 Industrial Way, Lodi. Saturday 1/13: Funeral service at Quail Lakes Baptist Church at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Emergency Food Bank in memory of Mike.
It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Mike Donaghy, Emergency Food Bank Executive Director. The entire Board of Directors and staff send our heartfelt thoughts to his family.
