Amazing turnout at Bolsa Chica State Beach for our Earth Day cleanup! 🌱 Spent the morning with 528 volunteers collecting 967 lbs. of trash including 22 needles (💉yuck)! Shout out to @hurley!! Also AT&T, Bank of America (who brought around 100 volunteers), and several hard-working Girl Scout Troops (4167, 4166, 1134, 5311, 7142, & 5214). A beautiful day in Seal Beach spent with friends, family, local businesses and community environmental groups! Special thanks to Congressman, Harley Rouda, who presented a certificate award to @surfrider recognizing our commitment and dedication to the environment! We had a blast at our 12th Annual Ohana Day, enjoying dances by the Leiali`inani Polynesian Dance Academy, totem carving, face painting, music, mermaids, fun environmental activities and interactive demonstrations, surf lessons, a beach cleanup and much more! Our Beach Cleanup brought together 265 volunteers who collected 422 lbs. of trash, including 5 needles! This past Sunday April 7th, we were joined by 36 enthusiastic volunteers for our monthly Harbor Cleanup and collected 359.5 lbs. of trash! 😎 Special mention to @csufofficial and the @zappos crew that drove from Las Vegas at 3AM to join us and for their generous donation to our chapter!
We were joined this morning for a special beach cleanup by 100 amazing VANS volunteers! 🌞 A total of 306.5 lbs. of trash were collected in Sunset Beach . Most pounds for a single volunteer were 19.4 lbs! The most unusual item found was a message in a bottle! Thank you VANS volunteers! We hope to see you soon 👏👏👏 hsbsurfrider.org
