• Hello

Hello...is anyone out there?? It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted or been on social media for that matter. There have been a lot of upheavals in my life this year, which I know you can all relate too! But with all those upheavals have come some silver linings. Having to shut my studio and stop teaching really threw me. At first it just seemed like a vacation at home, time to get some things done, but as the uncertainty of how long this lock down from Covid was going to last continued, it made it hard to move forward and forge a new routine so I felt ungrounded and in limbo for a bit, this is when it becomes important to know yourself and what you need. I needed a new normal. Before Covid I had been suffering with both shoulders and a hip bothering me, not really any time to rest and address it, my business was really doing well and I was so enjoying sharing my passion with others. Stopping teaching and therefore not sitting every day for numerous hours in easy pose on the floor was the first step in healing my hips and bringing to my awareness what was causing the problem. Next we decided to redo pretty much our whole house all bathrooms, kitchen, flooring which we would never have been able to do if I was working. This was another silver lining 😊 but I would have to give up my studio space for storage while we were remodeling for nearly 3 months. This again was a very hard time for my as I had lost my yoga / stress relief space and had my routine again disrupted, with no hope of creating a new one with all the changing activity in our house. This too has a silver lining...as I had to completely stop doing yoga my shoulders both had time to fully heal. I am happy to report that I am no longer suffering from any chronic joint issues and have created a new awareness of doing too much yoga 😬. Creating balance in my life has always been very important to me, but it’s amazing how something can be right in front of you and yet you still don’t see it. We can all recount plenty of hardships and troubles that Covid has brought to us this last year+ but I ask that you pause and take a moment, shift your focus and find your gratitude...it’s there

  • Change can be hard sometimes, especially when it involves uncertainty. It requires us to go through an uncomfortable period of adjustment and to be able to relinquish our sense of need for control. Learning to surrender to the moment and breath through your discomfort, allows you to recover the only true control you really have. The control over your reaction to what is happening around you. Yin yoga is a wonderful practice that teaches you to do just that, surrender and be okay with what is.
