Scott was very clear on his feelings about having his photo taken: 👎👎👎 And Madeline was very clear on her feelings about having photos to commemorate this time of their lives: 💕👫💍👍 But I keep things pretty painless -dare I say fun- so I'm pretty sure by the end Scott was on board for more photos come October! 🎉🤵👰💒
Some days are harder than others when you're a work-at-home mom/small business owner. I'm simultaneously having a great day and a hard one. My kids' school called me 90 minutes after drop-off to say one of them was sick. 🤦 It certainly changed my plans (and my productivity for the day,) but I am so grateful to have the flexibility to take care of my family and do the work I love.
Five years ago, I was sitting in a cubicle at a soul-sucking job, dreaming about the day I could leave it behind. I had been running my photography business on the side for 2 years, but I was scared to take the leap. For a pragmatist like myself, being a solopreneur has too many risks, pitfalls, and general scariness. But one day, I came home, looked my husband in the eye and said, I can't keep doing this. To my surprise, he said, Ok. The rest of the night was spent running budgets and scenarios and making financial plans for all the what-ifs. The next morning, I turned in my notice. I immediately felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders. It's crazy to think of all the changes that have happened since, including becoming a mother, that our spreadsheets couple never have predicted. I'm so glad I finally gave myself permission to take a risk, because the reward has been unimaginably fantastic. If you're holding yourself back because of what-ifs today, consider this your Ok moment. Give yourself permission to take chances, make mistakes and get messy. You might be surprised by what happens. #sandragrunzingerphotography #solopreneur #ladyboss #stlweddingphotography #weddingdetails
Boudoir is for the real person here and now who deserves to know how amazing they are, not the imaginary person you plan to become some day. PM me for more details. I had always thought that when I hit my goal weight, I would go for a boudoir shoot. Well that weight came and no shoot. 'Maybe in a few more pounds,' I thought... Finally, one day I realized what I was doing. I don’t want to be one of those people who say 'someday' and then wake up twenty years later and never did it. So I booked my boudoir shoot. Sandra did my engagement pictures so I knew she could capture pictures where I look pretty… but in these, I looked hot!I didn’t know I could look like that! Giving my husband the album was very memorable. Needless to say, it was by far his favorite gift… ever. But it was also a gift to myself. I let myself be captured as my husband sees me, and remind myself that I really am a beautiful woman. Looking back now, although my body was not where I wanted it to be and I was riddled by body doubt, I am glad I decided to do it. No, I wasn’t a size 6 and my shoot showed me as I truly am – a size 12 woman with a tummy and thighs, and yet I felt like a million bucks, and I think I looked even better. #boudoirphotography #boudoirmarathon #stlboudoir #stlouisboudoir #stlbride #valentinegift
Happy New Year! What resolutions are you working on this year? I honestly failed at last year's resolution of being in pictures with my kids. Curse of the photog mom. Always behind the camera. I'm always on the health journey resolution, so that's always on my list. I'm even starting a #21DSD tomorrow! Wish me luck!
You made it! Kick the long weekend off with a craft cocktail. My personal favorite is a Moscow Mule. Mix it up with a bit of rosemary. To win this mug set with Moscow Mule mix, tag a friend who mixes a killer cocktail. **Last day of the Stocking Stuffer Giveaway!** It's been a blast! I'll announce a winner tomorrow evening since this went out so late. #giveaway #sandragrunzingerphotography #moscowmule
