Mason jar salad Prep is about to go down in the #mealprepninjachallenge group. This is gonna be delicious 😍
Yesterday in #mealprepninjachallenge we shared our favourite convenience foods and time-saving tricks. Obviously pre-mixed gin and tonic made the list. Lol. Not my suggestion, just for the record, but I like it 👌
I promised my bestie’s husband that I’d work out with him tonight. I forgot about that promise, so I had some 🍷 and then I got the reminder text. Note to self: don’t drink wine then work out 🤷🏻♀️
Sunday’s power hour was mostly fruitful. I totally forgot the kale was in the oven 🙃I spent less than 60 minutes total to get ready for the week. I did a quick pickle of carrots and onions as condiments for our fajita bowls and also cooked the quinoa for that. I roasted some veggies for our DIY pesto chicken pasta bowls later this week and washed some veggies for snacks. The broccoli and cauliflower are for steaming and roasting as sides for dinners. I made 6 servings of apple cinnamon overnight oats and boiled some eggs for quick protein at lunch time or snacks. We’ll be working towards this in the #mealprepninjachallenge, which officially starts today!! The first challenge went out last night and I couldn’t be more excited about working with these women to achieve #ninjastatus in the kitchen. 🔪🥕🔪🍠🔪🥑🔪🍒🔪🥗🔪🍎🔪🥗🔪🍉

Last year on Halloween I thought I was being clever when I pre-ordered a pizza the day before Halloween to be delivered at 5:00PM on the 31st. It didn't arrive until 7pm, my kids were miserable and I had actually made them dinner by the time the pizza finally arrived. Trick or treaters were already coming to our door, I had a huge pile of dirty dishes to deal with, my kids were whining to get out the door. Not fun. Lesson learned. Yesterday I defrosted some homemade frozen meat sauce, boiled some pasta and steamed some broccoli. We were out the door by 6:30pm with full bellies. I felt like a meal prep ninja. 🔪💃 There are lots of simple things we can do in the kitchen to make our lives easier, and so that we can spend time the things that *really* matter to us. 🎃☠️ Want to become a meal Prep Ninja too? When women come together to lift each other up its magic ✨ Lots of chat in the #moveyourbodyproject yesterday around the feeling of failing or being stuck. My thoughts: you’re never failing. If things aren’t going your way today, at the very least you’re learning. We all get those feelings of stuckness from time to time, it’s normal. We are allowed to feel that way, notice and name it without judgement. We take responsibility for our actions and we know that a simple mindset shift or even the smallest action can get us feeling right back in our power. I love the openness of this tribe. Party’s *just* getting started. Care to join us? Live link in my profile @twentytoesfitness

Daily movement can take many different forms. The women of #moveyourbodyproject are are practicing navigating that together. Some days feel ah-mazing and energizing, other days are restorative, some days we dedicate time for intense movement and other times we weave it into our lives and sometimes we tune into our body’s cues and rest. Loving the posts from these women! Come join us! Live link in my profile @twentytoesfitness ❤️

Saw this post on a friend’s page today and just had to share. Today in the #moveyourbodyproject group I was chatting about CHANGE. change in itself is a skill, something we have to practice. You don’t just *know* how to play a piano, right? It takes practice! Truth: change can be hard, uncomfortable and inconvenient. If you’re feeling those things, plus a hefty dose of resistance, guess what: you’re normal. The difference between staying stuck, wishing and hoping versus actually moving towards our goals is learning to face that discomfort and uncertainty. When we learn to do this, the outcome is almost always growth.
More highlights from #moveyourbodyproject. The goal of the challenge is exercise consistency and finding a balance between intense and restorative movement. I’m loving the insights so far! Wanna join us? It’s not too late? Join the free challenge using the live link in my profile @twentytoesfitness

3 THINGS THAT MY MOST SUCCESSFUL CLIENTS HAVE IN COMMON. I love seeing women thriving in their health and wellness journey and I've been thinking a lot about what all these women, who feel like they've found their groove, have in common. 🌹 These women are focused on their actions and living their values, not the final outcome or goal. They focus on the daily tasks and stop to smell the roses instead of stressing over the end goal. 🌎 These women know how to navigate the continuum between all or nothing. They know how to manage their intensity, effort and expectations of themselves and dial those up and down as needed. 🙅🏻 They have ditched the defeatist mentality. These women don't play the victim, they take responsibility for stepping back into their power when they feel like they're off course. ❤️ Wanna learn more about thriving in your health and wellness? Join me and 60 other women for the *free* #moveyourbodyproject starting on Monday. Join us using the live link in my profile @twentytoesfitness
This fitness journey is a winding road. We all want results in some form: stronger, faster, leaner, more powerful. Some days we have a flow, other days it's a grind, sometimes it's social and other times it feels really solitary. Some days it's intense and energizing and other days it's relaxing. In my world it's all about it's all about showing up wherever you are in your body today and honouring the process. #moveyourbodyproject
Do you even like the way you move? If you hate your exercise you'll struggle to stay consistent. There's no best program out there! The best program for you is the one that you actually enjoy, that makes you feel strong and empowered. If you struggle with loving the way you move and staying consistent click the live link in my profile @twentytoesfitness and join me and 50 other women for the *free* #moveyourbodyproject ❤️ join us for two weeks of consistency, accountability and falling in love with moving your body.
Sunday funday? Question mark intended. Just thought I'd share a few snaps from our day. I can't count the number of times I said Take a deep breath to the kids, buuut I'm thinking maybe it's because that's what I really needed to do. In the first pic my little guy is telling me he's going to SMASH his scooter, and is refusing to budge. In the second one my girl is yelling at me while she pedals away because I'm not helping properly. Sometimes I want to laugh and sometimes I want to cry. 😂 I realize that most of what we see on the internet is pretty curated, and of course no one's ever struggling, am I right? Welp, truth is the struggle is usually in the background. Sending virtual hugs to all of the parents on this extra long weekend ❤️
GRATITUDE FOR THE PROCESS: this training journal represents 10 months of work, showing up, early mornings and lots of sweat. We all have goals, we all want to see results, but the truth is we can't control the outcomes. What we *can* control are our actions. We can get on board with the process, focus on consistency and celebrate the small wins along the way. Need a little accountability and support? Join me and the #moveyourbodyproject tribe for a free two week exercise consistency challenge at the live link in my profile @twentytoesfitness ❤️

Afternoon snacks, courtesy of @jshust. She gets me.
Some days are just 100% shenanigans. This morning I forgot to pack my convertible weights so I had to borrow dumbbells from one client to take the next. What I did not forget to put in my trunk was a bottle of wine. I don't know what to tell you 🤷🏻♀️Had a couple of 'helpers' home sick today, which always makes for an interesting session 🙃 Mom life is HARD, but we show up (sometimes with wine instead of weights) and do our best. Sending virtual hugs to all the mamas out there who need one today ❤️
Last week of September= fun and sweaty times with this crew 😍
Just like that, #takebackseptemberchallenge is done. I'm so proud of ALL of the women who showed up and shared with our community. Thank you!! Special recognition goes out to @jlouven who is literally still taking back September with daily practice and posts 🙃 as well as @jshust and @36ginger who shared generously in the spirit of the challenge and made me laugh. I'll have a gift coming your way shortly Ladies ❤️
So many awesome posts from the final day of our challenge yesterday. I asked the ladies to share what nourishes them and these responses are on 🔥🔥🔥 #takebackseptemberchallenge
Loving yesterday's contributions from our dial it up, dial it down challenge ❤️
Today is the FINAL day of the Take Back September Challenge. The theme is: nourish. I asked my crew to tell us what nourishes them in body, mind and spirit. I'll share some of mine: ✨ I'm driven by the idea that anything is possible. When we show up consistently and relentlessly we have the opportunity to learn, create and grow. ✨ Community, sisterhood and family feed my soul. ✨ Coffee and deadlifts make me feel powerful. ✨ I feel most alive when I'm out in nature.
It's Day 10 of Take Back September! For our final challenge, we're exploring what it is that we need in order to feel nourished. I'm not talking about eating lots of chicken and green vegetables, ha! I mean, what is it that you need to feel like you're thriving in body, mind and spirit? What feeds you, excites you and makes you feel alive? What sets your soul on fire? We deserve to explore the things that excite us and help us grow. 🔥 I want you to spend a little time thinking about this and connecting to it.Your final challenge is to post an image, a photo collage or even a little album of multiple images. Think of it as a little digital inspiration board or vision board. Keep it as simple or as elaborate as you like, but most importantly tell us about what nourishes you. 🔥 I'm super-pumped for this challenge and can't wait to see what you share for your final post. Don't forget to tag #takebackseptemberchallenge and @twentytoesfitness.
Today's challenge for day 9 of #takebackseptemberchallenge is to learn how to navigate the stressful times in our lives without pressing pause on the health and wellness journey. Sometimes less is more! When shit gets real, we need to learn how ditch perfection and dial down our commitments in order to keep showing up and moving forward. The idea is something is always better than nothing. I knew September would be a stressful month for our family and there's no way I'd be able to manage my optimal fitness/training schedule, so instead of throwing my hands up and quitting, I'm committed to three days per week. That's it. Anything more is extra. When we learn how to dial it down, we start to realize that it's actually pretty manageable, there's no need to stop and start if we learn how to manage our expectations of ourselves.
Yesterday I asked the Take Back September crew to take some time to connect with the people who matter to them. I'd call it a big success 😍😍😍
Day 9 of #takebackseptemberchallenge is all about ditching perfectionism and embracing showing up to our lives in all of our imperfection. Simply put; showing up and doing something is far more effective than getting overwhelmed, freaking out, pressing pause and doing nothing. 🦄 For today's challenge we're giving ourselves permission to dial our effort and intensity up or down depending our our stress levels. 🦄 The challenge for day 9 is to find an area of your life and think about how you're going to dial it up or down depending on what you need right now. Share a quick image and talk to us about your decision to dial it up or dial it down and tag #takebackseptemberchallenge and @twentytoesfitness 🦄 This concept can apply to any area of our lives: fitness, nutrition, overall wellness, or our social lives. Here are a couple of examples: 🦄 Instead of feeling like we're failing because we can't workout 6 days per week, what if we could commit to just workout out three times, or even three short workouts at home, or even just going for a long walk outdoors three times per week? Dialing it down to a manageable level is far more effective than quitting. 🦄 Instead of feeling like we're failing because our eating isn't 100% on point, what if we made it okay to just stick to a few nutritional commitments, like preparing most of our meals at home or eating protein and veggies at most meals and letting the rest of the cards fall where they fall? Wouldn't we be much further ahead than just saying F-it, I'll start again on Monday? 🦄 This is the challenge where we commit to showing up, however imperfectly, because we know we'll be much further ahead when we show up than when we press pause. xo
Connect - today's challenge for Take Back September. I'm spending a little extra quality time with these two rascals. We're having a snack picnic and then gonna do some backyard chalk graffiti ❤️ phone off. Byeee. #takebackseptemberchallenge
Sharing some wins from yesterday's Move Your Bod challenge. These women are on 🔥🔥🔥
The day 8 challenge for #takebackseptemberchallenge is called: Connect. Last September I got really bogged down with the day-to-day and I felt like it was suddenly October and I could barely remember doing anything or seeing anyone, never mind having any fun. For the connect challenge, my crew is going to take some time on Tuesday to connect to the people who matter. 🌈 This could be as simple as a phone call to a friend or relative you haven't spoken to in a while to see how they're doing or making some plans with a friend to grab a drink and catch up. You could use this challenge as an opportunity to spend some quality time doing something with your immediate peeps tonight, the ones you live with - like playing a game or going for a late-summer ice cream cone before late summer turns into fall. You could take this as an opportunity to make some weekend plans with another family or even take the opportunity to connect with your significant other. 🌈 Whatever you choose, take a quick photo and tell us about how you're using this challenge to connect to the people who matter to you most. Don't for get to tag #takebackseptemberchallenge and @twentytoesfitness.
My favourite post from #takebackseptemberchallenge today. The fruits of @jlouven food prep this past weekend 😂😍🥚😂😍🥚😂😍🥚
