Tonight at 7:26 pm, it is exactly 6 months ago you came into our world; much smaller than anticipated, much cuter than I could have imagined. You were perfect from the first day. Each and every month you have surprised us with something new. All of a sudden, you just know how to do something that is even more funny or surprising than the thing before. You always wake up with a smile, despite gas, teething or growing pains. Your mind is much further ahead than your body. If it was up to you, you would be crawling, walking and possibly even flying. We have learned together, laughed together, and explored together. We go look at trees dancing in the wind, we get up at 6 am on the weekends and watch morning cartoons together, we throw foods around during dinner time, and we make fart noises and laugh out butts off like no one else. I love you little baby bubs and thanks for being mine!
Today, the baby and I strolled around the mountain and found these branches along the Mountain Brow Park, right along the edge of the mountain. I was always looking for something dramatic for this spot #hamilton #yhm #yhmhome #yhmhomedecore
It's a beautiful day in the Hammer! #Hamilton #YHM
Hamilton gave me all the feels this morning - and a baby that napped for 3 hours. It must be the sound of the trees in the wind and the birds singing instead of massive traffic and construction.
Horrible sleep last night, but with a cup of coffee from Cuba and homemade eggs benny, things slowly turn around. Last week, I announced that I would try out food writing, lifestyle writing, etc. I have to admit, I was super excited about it. I had looked forward to it. However, it wasn't what I had expected. We were not on the same page. Already on Tuesday, we parted ways. So what now? Well, baby F is already six months on Aug 15th. Crazy. Time flies. I really enjoy being a mother. We go on walks three times a day, we cuddle at night and we have fun trying new foods. He is currently teething so we also hug a lot. I'm sure he's tired of all the kisses. And oddly enough, I am still dreaming of retirement and doing one particular thing when I retire. It's work-related (of course) but I have a secret; I haven't tried it and I haven't even really thought about it. So, maybe it is a sign. Maybe the failure of the gig last week was a sign for me to pursue something else. Oh, the entrepreneur life! As I sip the last bit of coffee and enjoys this eggs benny, my mind is already going with ideas. So, here we go!
People often ask how I can work with a baby at home. The secret is a dictation app and an iPhone holder on the stroller. I write articles, emails and have meetings on our long stroller walks. This morning, we walked for almost 3 hours before it got too hot. We made a quick pit stop at a coffee shop for a diaper change and food. I handle important matters after he's put to bed #MomHack #thebossandthebaby
Today is a big day for me! Not only did my viking baby sleep 8 straight hours after having his first solid foods yesterday, but I'm also starting a new lifestyle column today, where I get to talk about food and interior design. To start the day off right, I'm enjoying coffee straight from Cuba - and a piece of candy left behind from last night ❤️
Good morbing world! Who else is up at the crack of dawn with a baby? #thebossandthebaby
Sometimes, things don't have to make sense. Tonight's sky didn't make sense. These clouds usually happen after rain. ...But there is beauty in the chaos.
My mom told me about a yarn shop in Georgetown that collects knittes rectangles and then creates larger blankets for people in need. They have been doing it for 20 years and I love a good cause. So I went digging in the basement for my yarn, as I have about 20-30 rolls of yarn in all kinds of colour combinations. Time to get knitting while the baby sleeps.
Our new home is 98% complete and these five art pieces complete our living room. But can you figure them out? 😏
Taking a break from unpacking but we're almost done! I'm back to work on Monday. Baby F is adjusting well to his new surroundings but he does prefer to cuddle with mom on days ending in Y
Baby is sleeping after our hectic move. He has been stressed out and sad after everything he knew was suddenly gone. He is very clingy (I don't mind), and he hasn't been sleeping well. But he seems to be settling in well at the new house and he almost lost it when he saw his jungle gym! What a cutie ❤️
Happy birthday Canada! With a severe thunderstorm warning and humidity that makes even the happiest person cranky, we are packing up our treehouse apartment. Two weeks until we get the keys to another exciting chapter of our lives
