Tonight’s engagement session was so adorable I couldn’t help but run home and edit a few favorites! Matt & Leah love to ride their bikes around town, so I was all in favor when Leah suggested bringing them to their engagement session. Also, she innovated that cute basket on the front from one they had laying around their house. She’s amazing! And it was the perfect excuse to incorporate fresh flowers from @wildwoodmarket 🌿 More to come!
I know this is a little different from the work I normally share, but stumbling across this moment with my camera in hand was too good to be true. If you’ve ever been to Sayulita, Mexico, then you know how well this photo reflects its laidback, surfer vibe. I loved exploring the streets during our downtime and enjoying the slower pace of life. Now if only I could surf...
I love getting creative with ring shots, but more often than not my favorite photograph ends up being the ring on the invitation. I love invites because they tell you so much about a wedding: how formal it will be, what colors will be incorporated, the overall mood of the celebration...including even a small piece of the invitation with the ring helps to tell this same story. And it’s just pretty ☺️
I realized that it’s been a minute since my last #fridayintroductions, so I wanted to introduce myself! I’m originally from Michigan but have bopped around the Midwest before settling in Indianapolis with my husband and our sweet pup, Wesco. I’m a hopeless romantic with a soft spot for bad romantic comedies, so it’s only natural that I document love stories for a living. My favorite part of my job is cheering on my couple’s marriages and the sweet love they share! It’s such an honor to be let into their lives and their wedding days, and it’s my goal to help them remember the joy and anticipation of this season for years and generations to come. In addition to my job, I also love Superman ice cream, Lake Michigan, and all the soft blankets 💕
Sarah and I have been going back and forth the last few days wrapping up the details for her wedding at @blackirisestate this June, and it’s so fun to feel the momentum of upcoming weddings. I feel like a bride all over again! My couples seriously have the best taste. And the cutest dogs!
I can’t wait to share more from this beautiful day! I couldn’t resist posting another sneak peek of the tablescape of my dreams. We actually planned this entire table around the anemone flower. It’s as fun to look at as it is to say :) // Hair & Makeup: @somethingbluestylists Venue: @ritz_charles Floral: @bellasorellafloraldesign Calligraphy: @lucyyoungcreative Paper: @spurlegulstudio Model: @ginell_barton Rentals: @violetvintagerentals Shoes: @bellabelleshoes Dessert: @gallerypastryshop Dress: @sweetcarolinestyles Linen: @latavolalinen Favors: @jomalonelondon Photo Lab: @fast.foto Ribbon: @thelesserbear
I know some photographers don’t enjoy the editing process, and I see why- it can be tedious. But I have to say that I love watching a photo come to life. I always see a final image in my mind when I’m shooting on a wedding day, and it’s so satisfying to bring that vision into reality. All of this to say that I’ve loved being back in the swing of things and spending the last few days editing Chris & Anna’s wedding photos. And today, they’re on the blog! Link in profile.
