In the last week I had two weddings, second shot for another wedding, did two engagement sessions (one out of state), and one portrait session. Not to mention that I have a newborn session in Cincy this week and an engagement session in Michigan this weekend! Love this fall season and spending time with my amazing clients, but this girl is ready for some rest! And by rest I mean editing ☺️So lucky to love what I do and to work with such amazing people. You know who you are!!
I normally gravitate toward backlit images with flowy dresses and light colors, but sometimes a photo is so captivating it just keeps drawing me in- this is one of them. It reminds me of my days studying fine art photography on a large format camera in college (think huge accordion camera on a stand with a dark cloth over my head). From an emotional perspective, the subtleties in Katie's expression keep my eyes studying the photo. From a technical standpoint, there is an amazing dynamic range allowing for both the deep burgundy flowers and her glowing highlights. Photography allows us to capture memories, but it also allows us to create art. At its best, we accomplish both.
Five things to know about Mary & Zach: they have crazy amazing chemistry, I decided I need everything in Mary's closet, we bonded over our mutual love of Jet's Pizza (🙌🏼), they are getting married at Laurel Court in Cincinnati next summer, and their engagement session is on the blog! One of my absolute favorites!
When the university greenhouse is unlocked so you just have to peek inside...I am so in love with everything about this! Their joy, her dress, that golden light 😍Thankful for couples that trust my vision and occasional trespassing!
How beautiful is this group of bridesmaids? You'd never know it was 50 degrees and windy! P.S. This is why I tell brides to consider wearing a flowy dress to their engagement session- love the movement in this photo! // This sweet wedding is on the blog! Link in profile.
A timeless fall wedding with sunset photos in the vineyard...pretty sure Ginell & Nick's wedding was a dream! One of my favorite blogs of the season. Link in profile!
I'm not sure how I had never shot at the IMA before, but I'm pretty sure I could photograph there the rest of my life and still find new amazing spots! It doesn't hurt to have a couple equally as photogenic as they are kind- and that's saying something because they are really photogenic. SO many more to come!
