Back in September I traveled down to Virginia to attend the @katelynjames workshop, and today I am so excited to be sharing our styled shoot! I love seeing what vendors can put together when given the freedom to play. Link in profile!
I love this photo of Megan & her ladies because you would never know it was taken in the midst of a downpour on her wedding day- right in the middle of the scheduled ceremony time. They are all huddled in the bridal suite watching the rain, trying to decide if they want to wait or move the ceremony indoors. Not only does this show what a joyful person Meg is, but it's also such a good reminder that everything possible can go wrong on your wedding day, and you're still marrying the love of your life. Nobody could wipe that smile off of her face, and you know what? The ceremony inside the barn was beautiful and intimate as their best friends and family crowded around them and watched them make their vows to the sound of falling rain. And the storm ended up making for the most beautiful and foggy sunset where I took one of my favorite wedding portraits of all time. So yes, I believe outdoor weddings are worth the risk.
Seems like the whole world glows after the ceremony...the sky and the couple both. P.S. These two are having a baby and I couldn't be more excited for them!! I can't even imagine how cute their babe will be!
I threw myself a pity party this morning for how cold it's been outside and how cooped up I've felt in our house (I know you other work-from-homers can commiserate). But then I took Wesco on a walk and realized that it was above 40 degrees and sunny and things were melting and birds were chirping and I kid you not there was just a hope in the air as everyone emerged from their houses for the first time in a minute. I will always defend winter and the coziness of a roaring fire and hot tea, but between you and me, I'm over it this year. Here's a photo of warmer days so you can join me in dreaming of summer on the shores of Lake Michigan!
There are a few reasons I love this photo, and it's not just because of the way Christy's dress twirls. If you don't know the legend of #miamimergers at @miamiuniversity, it goes like this: if you kiss under the Upham Arch lantern at midnight, you'll be together forever. Now it may not be midnight, but I think that dancing under the arch at golden hour is just as romantic, and I have a feeling that Christy and Chad will be together forever 😉
Back in October I had the pleasure of second shooting for the lovely @samireneephotography and today I'm sharing a few favorites on the blog! It was a picture perfect fall day at @barnatbayhorse, and the ladies had some of the prettiest bouquets I've ever seen. Link in profile!
I booked our Airbnb for Abigail & Luke's Wisconsin wedding last night! Anyone else an Airbnb addict? We are staying at the cutest little bed and breakfast on a farm (and not far from the lake)! I've used it all over the world and it's honestly become one of my favorite parts of traveling. I love meeting the hosts and experiencing a day in the life. Not to mention that booking an Airbnb is an excuse to look at houses for hours!
