Richard and Nora’s wedding day was so full of love and laughter, dancing and s’mores, and so, so much joy. Their sunrise hike the morning after still feels like a dream. They really wanted sunrise photos even though it meant starting our hike in the dark, on almost no sleep after their awesome celebration. So. Worth. It. 😍 So thankful to an adventurous bride & groom (Nora hiked Stony Man in her dress!!!), my second photographer/lighting assistant @kollinsimone, the father of the bride who was both our trail guide and fabulous conversationalist (foreign policy talk on the way down a mountain — a scenario I never even imagined but geeked out the whole time!) on the way back down, and our intrepid bridesmaid who fluffed the dress and carried snacks. And thanks to beautiful Sunday afternoon naps.
I’m not even sure how I got this lucky but today’s work brought me to not one, but TWO newly opened boutique hotels in Central Virginia. Love love love how beautifully designed both @thevirginianhotel and @hotelweyanoke are, and I could just hang out at either of them all day.
Such a fun #tuesdaystogether at @southernprovisionscompany talking about SEO and website/blogging/social tips with @travellikeaprince and @suzannadaviesva Plus a sneak peek of the NEW space #SoProCo is creating for #ourlynchburg. Beautiful new retail space and converting the existing property into a venue. Yes, please!!! #tttheburg #risingtidesociety
I had the pleasure of capturing portraits of Charlie to commemorate completing her Master's degree at Lynchburg College. Her dog Sully came along, and we got a few photos with him, too, before he got too excited by the squirrels on campus!
I'm delighted to finally be able to publish the work I did in DC. Remember the selfie at the Capitol? The mystery client was none other than my alma mater, Hope College, and I photographed two current students who are in the middle of the DC Honors Program, a semester in Washington that gives them real-world experience in politics and policy-making. It was a chilly day (it started snowing at the end of our time together!) but it was wonderful to meet Irene & Luke, and to hear about their experience at Hope — so much has changed since I was there!
Delighted to be a contributor (writing this time, not photography) to @edibleblueridgemagazine’s bucket list. @scratchpasta’s squid ink pappardele and The Flat Takeaway Crêperie’s crêpe sucre. Local food + writing = some of my favorite things!!!
