I've noticed that the more protein I eat, over carbs and fats, the less I'm controlled by food and craving to eat more and more. Now that's not to say I don't crave food, because I do. I crave a LOT of yogurt (a lot - a lot), and it fills me up until my next meal... or.... I crave chicken, or turkey bacon or a turkey salad. Eating more protein has trained my body to eat only what it needs. When my family is getting curly fries from Arby's, I have no urge to reach over and grab a few. None. I'm no longer under the employment of sugar cravings and what not as much (as I used to be) ❤️ #dareyoutotryit // stole this photo from @sarajohnson8972 😊
Awww Snap! @snapkitchen I forgot to grab about ten more meals for the week (this place is unbelievably good!!). They used to have one near me, but now they're only in the city, versus the suburbs 😢. Everything inside is gluten free, healthy and they have meals ranging from breakfast to dessert, savory to salt, meal to snack.. water to fresh pressed juice. 🍕I got a cauliflower pizza, salmon salad, and the bestest chocolate mini tarts with almond butter inside @hailmerrysnacks
Good morning! ☀️ I'm thinking about going for a bike ride today 🚲 The weather is sooooo nice and it's my rest day; it's good to stay active. Rest days don't necessarily mean sitting on your couch and resting, it's more of like rest your muscles, but move your body. I'd also longboard, but my buddy is at school 😢 (my little bro), so another day for that. // I made egg whites with roast beef, turkey, orange peppers and a drizzle of olive oil for breakfast. 🍳
Honestly can't get over how good these protein bars are. Some people think they taste like saw dust, but that's only if you just had ice cream last night and your taste buds are used to loads of sugar (haha suckers.. you can't taste the goodness now). I just tried the peanut butter @questnutrition bar and LOVED ever bite of it!! The flavor keeps getting better and better!! What's your favorite flavor? S'mores? Peanut butter? Oreo?
My favorite place to end a successful day is Whole Foods, to grab some hot and ready food, like salsa verde chicken, asparagus, kale salad, one piece of tofu (find Waldo), and broccoli slaw (one of my favorites). Who else loves going to the ready-to-eat bar at Whole Foods? 😋
Some days you wake up and you just need to break the cycle and grab a cup of caffeine 🍵 I called my sister up after a scary, but courageous dream that should've been a nightmare, but I wasn't scared, and asked her for her Matcha Latte recipe that sounded like an amazing start to my morning. You always need to listen to your body, and sometimes it's hard to differ between your BODY wants, your body needs, and your MIND craves. My body wanted a boost of caffeine, since I woke up cranky after sleeping in too long to see what happens next in my dream. Now I'm a tad bit behind in work, but I know that I'll speed things up with a cup of matcha. Plus, matcha has only half the amount of caffeine as cup of coffee... so SCORE. // This recipe tastes like horchata, since there's a dash of cinnamon and a couple packets of truvia. 😋
