I love it when families completely trust me during their session. It's photos like these that are my personal favorite. The in-between moments... the real moments . This is life and this is what I want them to remember. Those days spent running around trying to capture their precious wild and free 2 year old. Days that are so long and months that are way too short!
Megan contacted me about photographing her wedding just after Haddon was born. I remember setting up the phone call and praying that I wouldn’t be a complete zombie :)! Thankfully, Megan and Bradley showed me grace and today I'm sharing more from their Chapel Hill engagement session on the blog! Can't wait for their wedding in November!!
Spent my evening chasing this precious little girl around her castle 😉. We've known the Fishers for a while (mitchell grew up playing baseball with Brett) and it was truly such a joy to capture some family photos for them! So glad they came to visit Asheville!! 💕
It's nap time for my lil punkin and as much as I wanted to join him, I didn't😆. I'm knocking out some editing to get all caught up before tonight's session! Can't wait to share Megan and Bradley's e-session on the blog tomorrow!
Sharing more from Erica and Stephen's maternity session on the blog today!! Can we all take a moment and agree @rrogerss6179 looks amazing at 38 weeks pregnant. I mean c'mon?! 💕
Rainy days = working mostly from my laptop cozied up on the couch with a pumpkin candle burning! Although, ever since getting my iMac I just can't handle editing on anything else!! Any other photographers agree? Like how did I edit an entire wedding on a laptop all those years?! 😆
For a moment I imagined I was in Charleston and that was Spanish moss. Nope, just Chapel Hill with the sweetest couple!
Reminding myself of this daily! In a world of do, do, do and more, more, more - I'm trying to live in a world of LESS is MORE. It's hard for me because I've always been a go-getter, big dreamer -- but I'm learning day by day to keep my focus on what really matters and remember that there are seasons for a slower paced life and seasons for a faster paced life. While it's certainly not in the least bit slow around our house - - my priorities have changed since becoming a Momma and it's OK! It's ok that I can only take on a limited number of weddings now and it's ok that I have to decline a lot of family sessions. It's ok because I'm raising an adorable little boy that I love more than anything and he needs me. He requires a lot of my time and attention. I'm SO thankful that the last 7 years of grinding in photography set me up to stay at home with Haddon. That was one of the main reasons I left my corporate job 4 years ago. I pursued photography full time and never looked back. Now I'm living my dream of being a stay at home Mom while still working in a career that was once just a hobby! Do I sometimes wish I had more hours in a day to work on all the things on my to-do list? Absolutely! Do I still dream big and think about how I can continue to grow my business? You bet! Do I get frustrated when Haddon doesn't nap and my editing is put on pause until 5 am the next morning - whew - more like I get tired 😉! But most of all, God is a good, giving, loving and gracious Father whom ALL good gifts come from. He has blessed us with the most precious baby boy and has continued providing business that allows me to contribute financially to our family and I am GRATEFUL. If you've made it this far, cheers to embracing the LESS!🎉
