There was a truly touching moment at the beginning of Danielle & Jarrett's wedding ceremony. After holding it together, while walking his daughter down the aisle and handing her off to her husband-to-be, the father of the bride broke down. The high ceilings of Grey Silo's Timber Room were barely able to contain all the love in that room. #greysilogolfcourse #greysilowedding
Danielle & Jarrett's wedding party are major squad goals. Positive vibes all day with this group.
The vibe of Danielle & Jarrett's wedding was casual and authentic from beginning to end. I had a ton of fun hanging out with these lovebirds and their closest family and friends. #rusticwedding #barnwedding
These two were super adorable with each other in front of my camera. And I caught this magical moment as the sun was just about to sneak behind the trees on the horizon. #goldenhour
Before formal photos, Amanda & Thomas shared an intimate First Look next to a windy Lake Ontario. For more first look photos, check out my recent blog post comparing the First Look to the traditional Aisle Reveal. Link in bio. #firstlook #lakeviewbycarmens
Another frame from Amanda & Thomas' golden hour session at the top of the tower. I love this soft, golden, evening light, especially surrounded by Lake Ontario. Such a beautiful place for a wedding. #lakeontario #goldenhour #lakeviewbycarmens #junebugweddings #theknot
After dinner, I pulled Amanda & Thomas from their reception for some #goldenhour portraits. Despite Amanda's fear of heights, she agreed to climb up to the top of the lookout tower of The Lakeview, to catch the last few minutes of sunlight. I captured this romantic, adorable moment between the newlyweds.
Last week, I took a trip out to #Stratford on the most calm, beautiful evening, to meet up with Frances & Scott for their #engagement photo shoot. Part of the river's water level was low, so I took the opportunity to invite Frances & Scott to take a stroll along the river's floor.
On Sunday, Heather & Dave had a bit of time for themselves, away from their kids, to shoot their engagement photos. I had so much fun watching these two laughing with each other through the whole shoot. I can't wait to capture their wedding day in October.
This weekend I felt like a bear emerging from his den, so eager to get outside, into the sunlight and take some portraits. My weekend started with engagement photos with Katherine & Sean.
Tizanella & Anthony are getting their engagement gallery today. I hope they love their photos as much as I do.
On a chilly day, like Steve & Zach's wedding day, there's nothing like the love (and body heat) of friends and family to keep you warm. I hope you're keeping warm today! #zampakwedding #blackcreekwedding
Jaime & Steven's wedding reception was just as beautiful as their ceremony, complete with incredible details and personal touches. Shout out to Revival House (@revivalhouse_on) for the incredible space and delicious meal.
Steve & Zach were surrounded by an amazing group of loving and supportive groomsmen and groomswomen on their wedding day, who braved the cold weather for photos around the beautiful, historic Black Creek Pioneer Village in Toronto. #zampakwedding #blackcreek #blackcreekwedding #blackcreekpioneervillage
On her wedding day, Sophia was surrounded by a group of supportive ladies, who kept her comfortable and laughing all day. #tohaffandtohold
Jaime & Steven's first look was less emotional than their meeting at the alter, but no less magical. This little balcony at the Revival House was the perfect place for this intimate moment to take place. #revivalhousewedding #revivalhouse #firstlook
Taryn & David's engagement shoot took place solidly in Mennonite country. While travelling from one location to another, we passed a convoy of horse-drawn buggies and had to watch where we stepped, while walking on the road.
Another couple frames from Kayla & Dan's farm engagement shoot on the weekend. How cute are they?
I had a busy day of photography on Sunday. It all started bright and early with Taryn & David's engagement photos. David is an engineer and loves interesting bridges, so we visited a couple during their shoot.
One of my favourite parts of a weding day is the emotional moments between a bride and her mother while she's getting ready. Some brides question whether or not they need getting ready photos; to me it's less about putting the dress on and more about moments like this one between Danica and her mother. #tomica17
Jenn & Jeromy's intimate backyard wedding was personalized from the location and decorations, to the dancing procession and the funny, yet heartfelt vows they wrote for each other. #jennmarriesjer
My favourite thing about Steve & Zach's engagement shoot was watching them being total goofballs with each other and make each other laugh through the whole thing. I'm excited to capture this magic again on their wedding day in November.
I had a really great time hanging out with Danielle & Jarrett on the calm, quiet evening of their engagement shoot. Just a short time chatting and observing couples during an engagement shoot adds a super important level of comfort and trust that brings out the best moments on the wedding day. I'm looking forward to Danielle & Jarrett's big day next June.
At my initial consultation with Danielle & Jarrett, Danielle mentioned that she imagined her engagement photos in a meadow. So I brought them to this park near Waterloo. They even brought their dog Behr along, who is barely visible in the tall grass. Thankfully, we caught the last bit of late day sun before the clouds rolled in.
