Last week I recorded an awesome new project with Tom Cameron @fourteeno3 and Joe Nicolo @joeycheez at the legendary Studio 4 in Conshohocken and Joe’s private studio. . . . This was a new and exciting experience for me. Very different workflow than my usual solo acoustic music. I have another album in the wings with that but this was a unique collaboration with so many great ideas and influences floating around. It was awesome to form a record from the ground up WITH other people. Some piano, some Kalimba, some strings, some vocals, some acoustic guitar, some electric guitar, some high strung guitar, some slide, some keyboards, some electronic sounds, some beats, some drums, some bass, some studio tricks and a whole lot of exploration spiced and mixed to taste! Tom is an amazing artist from London you have to check out (new album called “Tethered” under the name 1403) and Joe as you know is well...LEGEND! I have recorded many projects with him. Soooo all that to say: Expect Steve Reich meets Brian Eno meets Radiohead meets ambient chill meets jazz harmony meets pocket grooves meets...well...you just have to wait and see!
Swirling chords through a special medieval courtyard performance in Pettenasco Italy for Un Paese a Sei Corde historic sites concert series last summer.
5 years ago today I played a gig with Pat Martino and I am still learning from it. An amazing person and unbelievable player. . . . Special thanks to @rnagyphotography for arranging it!
I was just getting used to my very first Kalimbatar when I wrote this riff years ago. Now many models later this latest Kalimbatar makes that old riff come alive in new ways thanks to the brilliant @schwartz_guitars !!
So great to be back at Studio 4 today! Recording an awesome project with @fourteeno3 and @joeycheez
Reflecting today on how much fun it was to perform this @johnmayer tune with @mike_dawes last summer during a short run of east coast USA shows. 5 months later I had the opportunity to share the stage with John Mayer himself. Still trying to wrap my head around that! 🤔🧠🤯
This is the ending of a song I wrote called “She’s Almost Here” and perfectly sums up the feeling I had right before my precious baby girl was born. (Video by BethMarieEdits)
Michael Hedges gifted this parlor guitar to Will Ackerman before he died. Amazing instrument to behold and I was honored to perform a duet with Will and this relic at a recent concert. Gave me the chills. If you don’t know Michael, Will or Windham Hill Records then GOOGLE THEM NOW!!
The bass response of this amp is the most massively full, deeply rounded, gently massaging straight punch to the face!! . 🎶👂🏻😊👊🏻😮👍🏻 . . . Bravo @Marshallamps! I had the privilege of performing at Marshall’s booth for NAMM 2018 demonstrating the newest model of the AS100D and it blew me away. Marshall amp for acoustic guitar?? YES and seriously the best acoustic amp I have ever played without question. I. do. not. lie.
