It's a happy, happy weekend when it's filled with bff time, ice cream, and sunshine! (Like hello, @jenisicecreams was a MUST yesterday! 🍨) I'm spending a few days visiting my gal, @katie_nicole_wiley in Columbus, OH and exploring all of the coffee shops and photo ops. My idea of a perfect little getaway. ✈️💕 Anyone else taking a break to soak up the beautiful weather today??
Happy Friday!! I've seen so many new friends around here lately, so today's the perfect time to dive into some Friday introductions!⠀ ⠀ I'm Jenna, the founding designer behind J.Lynn Designery, and I am SO happy you're here. Since launching this little slice of the Internet I call my own, I've made some of the most amazing friendships and am just so grateful every day for the communities I've grown to know and love (that means YOU!).⠀ ⠀ Three things you should know about me:⠀ ⠀ --> My husband and I have two sweet guinea pigs (Lemmy and Bella) who make a random appearance here on Instagram every now and then. These piggies have our ❤, and if you have piggies and ever want to chat over our obsession with them, I am SO down. 🐹⠀ ⠀ --> Coffee is my love language (if this photo wasn't already a hint!). Cafés are my happy place, and I even have BIG dreams of opening my own coffee shop one day! (Planners and coffee - what else could a gal need?!) ☕️💕⠀ ⠀ --> I'm a Midwest girl born and raised, but have always had a love of the coast. This is why you'll often find coastal influences in my design aesthetic and products... and why I'm spending a week in Boston next month to work and draw new inspiration near the water. 🌊⠀ ⠀ NOW, I want to get to know you better. Where do you feel happiest and most inspired? A city you love, a coffee shop you can't get enough of...or maybe your very own workspace? Share below! And let's make this a stellar end to the week, friends!! 🎉💕✌️⠀ ⠀ Photo by @nomadicnewlyweds
How are we already counting down the last few days of March?! Y'ALL, I don't know about you, but this year is flying by, and I can't believe it's time to review Quarter 1 goals and start focusing on Quarter 2. Bust out that Refresh Weekly Planner, and spend some time over the next few days reflecting on where you started at the beginning of the year, the progress and steps you made in Quarter 1, and how you can adjust and realign to keep making positive progress on your year in Quarter 2. Have your goals shifted slightly? Guess what: that is totally fine and great, actually! That means you're continuing to focus on what's important for you going forward rather than getting caught up with something that no longer aligns. And if your 2017 goals are still relevant and on track with what you're working to achieve this year, let's dig in and continue to make amazing progress on those. Remember: write it down, then break it out into real, tangible action steps. Big, scary goals are attainable when broken down into steps you can see and DO. You've GOT this, friends!!! 📖🎉👊🏼
The dreamy lighting and chill tunes at @unbakeryandjuicery are always a refreshing, mid-week welcome - especially when it includes a little catch-up time with Monica of @45fairmount. Breaks like these are totally necessary when you work from home, friends! Monica shared some sweet tips on her blog this week for working from home productively - and I can promise you, they actually make a difference. Hop over to her bio to check it out! The fourth tip is *crucial* for me and can make or break my day... 💕🌿
Do you ever have days when you feel like you're just not doing enough to support your community, city, country, or even the world? Like some of the issues are just so overwhelming and beyond your reach? First of all, I get it. There's a LOT happening in the world all the time, and now more than ever, we're constantly aware of these issues, thanks to the instant news source that is the internet. But here's the thing: you CAN make a difference, even on the smallest level. Any action is better than inaction (is that the phrase?). And what I've learned lately is this: when all else fails, choose kindness. Sometimes a simple act of kindness — chatting it up with a stranger, complimenting someone, even holding the door for that family behind you — makes a bigger difference than you think in the lives of those you're affecting. This was the motivation behind my 40 Days of Kindness list for Lent! So I'm here to tell you: when it comes to supporting your community, don't beat yourself up if you don't have an hourly log of volunteered time at the end of the month. If nothing else, simply choose kindness towards those around you, and know that your ripple in the water can swell into a wave in the ocean. 🌊
Is there anything more appropriate on #nationalflowerday than a bouquet of something bright and beautiful on your desk?! I can't get over how pretty these pink ladies are! Fresh blooms are a perfect way to bring some life and inspiration to your workspace. I highly recommend running to your nearest grocery store to treat yourself today! 🌸🌷🌺🌼🌿
