Ringing in the New Year with the stomach bug at our house, no sleep and lots of disinfecting. Not our original plan but life happens 😬! 2019 was so good to us. We bought a house, shot more weddings than ever before + at some bucket list venues, raised babies, found a new grove w staying home w 2 toddlers + growing a business. Met so many amazing people along the way. Mitchell and I celebrated 6 years of marriage, took our first trip w/out babes to the Bahamas, and so many things my exhausted brain can’t remember 😂. Excited for the new + change that 2020 will bring for all of us! 🍾 This year I’m continuing to get better at saying no to things (not my strong suite) so I can say yes to what’s best for my family + friends + career! Remembering that there is a season for everything and each year will look different :).
That’s 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 wrap 👏🏻 2019! Truly overwhelmed with the incredible couples we met and documented this year. We ended the year with a bang with Amanda + Justin’s wedding at @meadowsmossycreek yesterday! It was a gorgeous day with so many amazing people in one room. They made us feel like family and we’re over the moon for the newly married Doubleday’s!! Not sure 2020 could ever top this year but— I say that every year 🤣!
Melanie was truly a classic + stunning bride! I'm currently wrapping up her wedding and can hardly wait to get it in her inbox. Every year I tell myself I'm going to get ALL of my work done before mid-December so I can rest and enjoy family time. Jokes on me. End of the year editing isn't easy but I wouldn't have it any other way! I am however *almost* done with all of my Christmas shopping! Why is there always a last-minute gift I forgot?! Anyone else? Who hasn't even started their shopping?!
The Martin's have a strong tribe and are loved by SO many! It brings me joy to reminisce on how much love filled this day from family members to old college friends -- and yes, even the vendors fell in love with these two! Here's to hoping they move to Asheville in the near future so we can hang out again 🙃!
It’s been a crazy week at our house. Scotlyn got tubes in her ears and handled it like a champ. I’m so very proud of her! I’m wrapping + shipping tons of client gifts (I’ll share once their delivered!) — I love spoiling our couples and reminding them that even though your wedding is over, we still love and think of you!! Each year brings new couples, new memories, friendships and work opportunities. So grateful for 2019 and the pivotal moments it brought for my career! Looking forward to all that 2020 brings — some changes but in a good way! Working on a new logo + really focusing my time on just weddings. This wasn’t supposed to be a “new year, new decade post” but here we are 🤦🏼♀️... most of all— Happy Thursday! I hope you find some slow time to be with your family today and ignore the hustle and bustle that might be calling you!
When you find pops of color at the very end of Fall and get to photograph @lindseyreganthorne and her family you do a little (big) happy dance! The Thorne family is beautiful, kind and genuine. It was truly such a blessing to capture all the sweetness and joy they radiate! I’ve been a fan of Lindsay and her work for years — brides, you have to check out @beprettycharlotte for all of your hmu needs👏🏻!! Sharing more from this session in my stories today!
