Quick peek at this amazing birth. Did your birth go as planned? Sometimes births don't quite fall in line with birth plans, and that's ok! This momma had planned to deliver at a birth center, but because she wasn't yet 37 weeks when labor started, she was told she needed to make it to midnight. Well baby wasn't waiting for midnight and when that became clear they ended up making the call to go to the hospital. Baby girl made her appearance just 4 minutes before midnight! Birth is so unpredictable! @birthunited @birthboundphotographer @birthbecomesher

Gorgeous birth with an awesome couple. So excited to be able to share!
It's World Breastfeeding Week! Now through Aug 7 there will be celebrations, information, and stories shared from all over the world about breastfeeding and all of the great benefits. One of my favorite things to capture immediately after a birth is that first latch. This momma has her new baby just minutes old, frosted with vernix, all snuggled up to her breast and is in the process of getting her latched for the first time. For breastfeeding to be successful a new mom needs support. How can you be supportive? It's pretty easy! Don't stare, don't shame her for leaving her baby uncovered - I don't like eating under a blanket either! Don't suggest she go somewhere more appropriate. Wherever and whenever her baby needs to eat is where and when it's appropriate to respond to that need. Don't stand by when you hear someone making disparaging remarks about a mom feeding her baby. If you are a business owner, make sure moms know they are welcome to feed their babies in your place of business. They aren't trying to shock anyone, offend anyone, steal a boyfriend or husband, or get attention. They are feeding their child. Period.
Labor is difficult. I love how this momma's support team surrounded her with prayer and love as her surges intensified. @birthphotogs @birthunited
