I have a confession. I'm paralyzed by FOMO. 😐 Max and I have had a weeklong trip to Paris booked since January and we have exactly zero things planned. every time I sit down to make a general itinerary I'm overwhelmed by how many things I want to do and eat and see and touch and smell! so I put it off and put it off and whoops it's August and we're going to France in four days. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ • if you've been, I'd love to know: what are your top recommendations? the Louvre, dinner at the Eiffel Tower, a cruise on the Seine, bike tours and the Musée d'Orsay are already on our list! along with cheese on cheese and pretending to be Amelié (my favorite movie!). and butchering a whole lot of French words. also wine. and being so overwhelmingly grateful I want to cry and probably will. 🇫🇷 bonus points for long flight survival tips. photo by my favorite mademoiselle @abbygracephoto
hanging on barely these past few days. every day is a new wave of deep sadness and grief and fear. it is paralyzing, all-consuming. what a terrible juxtaposition to simultaneously be at a loss for words and yet not shocked at all. to my friends of color, of different nationalities, faiths, sexualities, abilities, and backgrounds — I stand with you. you are seen, you are loved, you are worthy of space and life and safety. I am so sorry. • and because I need this steadfast reminder: Nice people made the best Nazis. My mom grew up next to them. They got along, refused to make waves, looked the other way when things got ugly and focused on happier things than 'politics.' They were lovely people who turned their heads as their neighbors were dragged away. You know who weren’t nice people? I spent the last 5ish days at #creativeatheartround7 and feel... I don't even know. I'm full. happy-exhausted. loved. dizzy with inspiration. BRAVE. being a part of this movement (because it's just that - a movement) has been one of the biggest joys of my life. it's an honor I never want to take for granted. to see women lit up with encouragement and education and permission... it's like nothing else. SIGH. @creativeatheartconference, I miss you already! and @katschmoyer, I hope you're taking a long winter's nap. changing the world is hard work. 😎 • ps. and that little lady right there? my galpal @ashlynscarter doing what she does best. (I mean, that list of best-things is very long. but touching hearts and minds through her words is up there for sure.) man am I a lucky chick to be around such incredible incredible incredible women. I AM SO HAPPY YOU GUYS! gonna stop typing now so I don't get teary uh oh already there ok have a good weekend. ✨💕 #creativeatheartalumni
it's super simple but I think black calligraphy is my favorite. 💌 #paperandhoneybride
shipping out the loveliest wedding suite this week with lots of texture, delicate grey letterpress, and the shiniest champagne gold. ✨ Mary + Chase are saying I do in a rooftop garden at the heart of NYC (#620loftandgarden, I see you) and that really says it all, right there. 🏙🌿🗽 #paperandhoneybride
this time next week I'll be in the air on my way to Raleigh! it's round seven (and my seventh!) of @creativeatheartconference and I CAN'T WAIT. something so so special about being in a room (or this GORG historic house, the @merrimonwynne) with a bunch of driven, big-hearted, badass women. I'm already doing some deep stretching in preparation for the million hugs. 🙆🏼 will I see you there? #creativeatheartround7 photo by @tmilophoto
hey! I'm Laura, and this is what happens when you stick me in front of a camera. (or the most flattering version, at least.) I'm a solar-powered wedding stationer, hand letterer, and shiny new letterpress printer living in the Great Lakes state. my bff / husband Max and I recently converted our garage into a press studio and it's been an adventure, to say the least. we make a good team! I grumble when the press isn't doing what we want (which is often - she's 100 years old. she does what she wants.) and Max cheerfully troubleshoots. I complain and eat snacks. Max is brilliant and figures it out. printing resumes. like I said, #dreamteam. 👯 • fun facts are my fav, so here's three: 1. I wanted to be an author for a long time - I dreamt of writing fantasy novels with elves and magic and dragons. thanks for filling that void for me, George R R Martin! (no elves, but I got over it.) I'm also one of those people who read all of the Game of Thrones books and won't let you forget that her name isn't Khaleesi, dangit, THAT'S HER TITLE! 2. I can't figure out if I'm an introvert or extrovert. I looOoOove being with people, but also, a weekend with one thing planned sounds exhausting. when am I going to rest?? I have one thing to do! 3. my long term life goal is to work hard enough to give Max HIS life goal - a greenhouse. 🌿 • thanks for reading friends! happy Friday! do a girl a favor and let me know a fun fact about you, plz. #fridayintroductions good side captured by @hmnphotographer
mountains signify home for me. if #paperandhoneybride Jennifer had BFF heart necklaces, she'd give one half to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the other to Juneau, Alaska.* her invitation suite incorporated lots of greenery and alluding to rainy Juneau days, but I adore how this Blue Ridge save the date came out. dreamy but down to earth enough to suit Jennifer and Conor's small and intimate Virginia wedding. 🌲🌙🏔 *I realize this leaves Jennifer without a piece of the heart necklace. do they make 3-part heart necklaces? would it even look like a heart anymore? still working on this analogy.
