β€οΈ I had the chance to see @fattitudethemovie while it was screening in Scottsdale and honest to god- I wish every single human on this planet could see it... it was THAT incredible. Thank you so much to Lindsey and Viri for dedicating over half a decade to creating such an important film. - Also, s/o to @theplusbus for this killer dress that got compliments all night β€οΈ
Holy. Fucking. Shit. This photo of @fatgirlsdancemovement taken by @shooglet is everything I want the world to be. πππ
ππ HI! THESE TOPICS NEVER GET SEEN (B/C ALGORITHM) BUT ARE REALLY IMPORTANT! READ, READ, READ AND COMMENT IF YOU'D LIKE SO THIS DOESN'T DISAPPEAR WHEN IT NEEDS TO BE FRONT AND CENTER ππ - When having conversations about wage gaps, only using the 80% statistic is like saying women were able to vote in 1920 when it was actually a movement centered around white suffragists who (especially after the 15th amendment passed) began pushing harder for voting rights for white women, to the exclusion of black, Native American, and Asian women. While white women were able to vote on the date many celebrate, in some southern states, black women were unable to exercise their right to vote up until the 1960s. - It's important to have the FULL and complicated conversation when it comes to these issues and I am grateful for what @mspackyetti has taken the time to write belowπ γ»γ»γ» The gaps are bigger for some of us. βEqual Pay Dayβ looks different for women of color. β β β β β β β β β Equal Pay Day looks different for domestic workers. β β β β β β β β β Paid Family Leave is harder for women of color breadwinners, whoβll only earn a percentage of their normal wage. β β β β β β β β β Pay gaps donβt just exist between us and white men-they exist between us and white women. β β β β β β β β β According to a report of the Economic Policy Institute, Black women with a college degree or higher earn 12.3% less in wages than white women with a college degree or higher. β β β β β β β β β Women of color-mostly Black, LatinX and Asian, make up 54% of the domestic labor workforce, but still earn less median salary than white women in the same field. β β β β β β β β β And βwork life balanceβ was often built for white women on the backs of their domestic laborers of color-who had to raise white children and their own. β β β β β β β β β the climb is not the same for us all. and if none of us are free until weβre all free...then you know what you gotta do. art by @monachalabi. image r/p: @sarahsophief. β β β β β β β β β [for my visually disabled friends, an image description: a graph showing the disparities between white men and all other wage earners by racial demographic and gender.] - Reposted from @mspackyetti

Fat Kid Dance Party Tucson: it kicked my ass, I made new AMAZING friends, danced to both Lizzo AND the Fraggle Rock theme song and wore tennis shoes for the first time in ages. @fatkiddanceparty in short was A BLAST. My recommendation? π―/π―ππΆππ
π§ Today I showed up to work without realizing that my pants were turned inside out, drank five ball jars of honey/lemon water and tea, decided that I can record better if I'm cross-legged on the floor instead of sitting on a tiny wooden chair, recorded the scariest things I've ever said out loud for seven hours straight and only cried twice. After the week I've had, I'd call today a MAJOR success. π―ππ°ππͺππ³π #LandwhalesUnite #LandwhaleTheBook
