Yo, photographers! Double tap if you cull backwards! (and everyone else says “um…what?” 😂) This is by far the greatest tip I’ve ever been given when it comes to editing! You might be thinking I’m crazy and that this does nothing to shorten culling time, but you might be wrong. Culling moves faster, easier, and you’re knocking out those reception photos earlier when you move through the images in reverse. When I work with the reception first, I progressively get to end the workflow process with my favorite images: the details and the portraits! PLUS, as you shoot, you get warmed up and shoot better. That’s why in a batch of images that feature a close up of the bride, I’ll almost always choose the last photo I took in the series. Why? Because the lighting was off in the first shot, maybe the second was a tad blurry, and the third and final one hit the nail on the head with clarity, light and expression. Have you tried it? Let me know below!
Elizabeth Taylor. Sophia Loren. Hannah Lee Yoder. Bombshells 💣💥
Y'all. As much as I'd love to be a plant person, I'm just not. I think greenery is so pretty, and whenever I see a perfectly styled image of a West Elm living room, I say to myself yeah, I could have that! And then I remember: I've killed several succulents and an orchid. Why I went for the orchid, I'll never know! So my question to all you plant lovers is...are ferns easy to keep alive? I really want to hang a couple on my porch, but I don't want two more plant deaths on my conscience!
Yesterday's sweet session with @hannahleeyoder may have gotten rained out, but we still had so much fun! It's such a joy to work with people who have a love and passion for photography. Today, you'll find me snuggled up with Guinness on the couch while I edit these and catch up on The Good Wife. Yeah, I've become obsessed with that show!
If you've ever thought of #elopinginGeorgia, you gotta see this! This engagement session has everything: waterfalls, a gorgeous marsala dress, and of course, Cloudland Canyon 😍 Click the link in bio to give it a view!
