I am a word guy; a poet. I work with words. There's so much poetry I don't like, but I love when students surprise me with their words. That's a big part of what gets me excited about coming back to work - when students engage with a story or with a text and connect with me. My favorite poem that I've ever written is about peeling an orange. I like it because it's silly and serious and about everything in the universe while also just about peeling an orange. Plus orange is a surprising color. Kyle Martindale, English Teacher #MeetTheStaffMonday

2005 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony commemorating the naming of John Elway Stadium at Granada Hills Charter HS. What a night! Mr. Elway spoke of his memories at Granada Hills and his football and baseball years. The applause was outstanding as we caught the exact moment the ribbon was cut! Thank you @photopromediacase for sharing this moment with us!
Great Back to School Night at iGranada!
Don't know what to get involved in this year? We have plenty of different activities for everyone, like dance! #WeAreAllHighlanders
Our Robodox team is always willing to give a helping hand to our community! Inspiring younger kids to learn about STEM and robotics is something the Robodox does every week at local elementary schools! #WeAreAllHighlanders
Meet the new STEM counselor! My name is Tiffanie Fung and I’m excited to join GHCHS this year as the STEM counselor! I grew up in Southern California and love everything that Los Angeles has to offer. I went to the University of California, Irvine for my undergrad where I studied psychology and business and went on to obtain my Masters in Educational Counseling at Azusa Pacific University. I enjoy working with a wide range of students with diverse and unique interests. I started my career at Fairmont Preparatory Academy as an academic counselor, and then transitioned into becoming the International Programs Counselor. Previously, I also worked at Rowland High School, training students for their future careers. This will be my seventh year as a counselor and I absolutely love what I do. I’m also fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and I understand Vietnamese. It is my goal one day to also learn Spanish. I am very excited for this opportunity to meet everyone and begin this new chapter at GHCHS! Please feel free to email me or set up an appointment to meet in person!
I had never run more than a mile before when I decided to run the LA Marathon. At my old school, I was really close with this one teacher and he had run 7 marathons before. So he asked me one day if I wanted to run with him. We trained for the 6 months prior to it, so running it wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting. The marathon itself was exciting and the weather was really good that day, but my legs started losing feeling around mile 20. I've only done it that one time. I'm glad I got to have that experience, but I don't want to do it again. Stephanie Paris, Math Teacher #MeetTheStaffMonday
