Four years ago today, I married Benjamin Zugay. ❤️ For nearly 10 years, Ben has been my best friend, encourager, teacher, and fellow big dreamer. He reminds me to love myself and give myself grace every day. It's kind of amazing how, all those years ago, I thought to myself, I couldn't possibly love him any more than I do now. But it's true: I love Ben more every day. We're building a home together (Getting paint everywhere 😅), exploring the world together (Even if it's just our backyard), working toward our career goals (As big and scary as they can be), and talking about starting a family (!!!) and now I see just how sweet marriage and love can be. It's a journey and an adventure - and it's uniquely special for every couple. . Happy Anniversary, Ben! Adventure buddies forever. 🌎 Photo by @laurenkirkbride
Today, I'm painting the back of our front door white! (We live in a condo, so we can't quite change the front of the door - or the door itself! 😜) Eventually, it'll have farmhouse trim around it - and it'll brighten up our whole kitchen! 🙏🏻 . While painting, I found a little heart shape in the wood grain! Can you spot it?! ❤️ . It doesn't matter if you live in an apartment, a small well-loved condo, or a big house - you just have to call it home and fill it with love. 🏡
Today, I took a break from sabbatical and hopped back in at @withgraceandgold! We have a couple of exciting speaking engagements coming up - and really talented August clients, too! . Although I'm excited to get back to work, I'm also really excited for the week ahead: I'm going to be painting our ceilings and our front door - before a weekend with family and final renovations! 🏡 Phew! 😅
It's a cloudy Saturday morning, and because I woke up at 5:00 AM 😅 I started putting together a fun post about bringing our condo from 1982 to 2017! It's kind of amazing how small changes can make a big difference! Stay tuned!
Some days, all you need is a photo session in Minneapolis with your husband and friends-turned-family - and to end the day with a giant pizza! 😊 The amazing @laurenkirkbride captured our @withgraceandgold family so, so beautifully! . For me, sabbatical has been bittersweet. Along the way, I've realized I was experiencing major burnout before sabbatical began, that I needed to rediscover my passion for, well, everything 🙈 - and that we, as people, aren't designed to navigate these tough seasons in life alone. . I've learned to embrace the messy and imperfect, to give myself more grace, and to rest when it's needed. In the meanwhile, I can't wait to pop our @withgraceandgold family photos onto our website! ❤️ I'm so excited for us to begin a fresh new season, well-rested!
