Recently I’ve been climbing some gems close to home while I ease my way into a rest period. I grind pretty damn hard all year and usually by December I need a proper rest. For me it’s as much for the mind as it is for the body. I sometimes feel like I’m running from objective to objective and the self pressure can finally chill out during a time like this. It’s a moment to remember my passion, look ahead, and celebrate success. It’s also a moment to forget about climbing a little bit... if I can... here is bad ass Ben Williams trying the wicked ‘Beyond Reason’ 13b @arcteryx @lasportivana @metoliusclimbing #maximropes @climbonproducts
🧐 What do YOU think? ——— What do you think the role of a professional climber is? (Or should be) What responsibilities do you think a pro climber has? Do you think pro climbers are important or relevant? (Or valuable?) Please comment if you feel like it! • • • • • @agrphoto from last fall.
Plenty of random little limestone nuggets in every direction around here. A great day of sunny December craggin with two old friends. Got a tan. Got pumped. Success. It’s great to be home! @heatherlweidner thanks for the photo! @arcteryx @lasportivana #maximropes @metoliusclimbing @climbonproducts @vertical.life.climbing
Moonhill... I can’t even imagine how stoked Todd Skinner and company must have been when they first hiked up to this insane feature nearly three decades ago. Now-a-days you’ll need to time your trip perfectly to get access to this monster (during the Yangshuo Climbing Festival) but assuming you can handle some crowds I’d say it’s well worth it. Here I’m climbing ‘Red Dragon’ 8a+ on an awesome day at the arch a couple weeks back. Enjoy the @tarakerzhner photo and keep your eyes pealed in the months to come for a bad ass @arcteryx video from Tara on the entire trip! 🙌🏽 thanks again for the incredible opportunity #arcteryx ! @lasportivana @metoliusclimbing #maximropes
