Every now and then I get totally overwhelmed by life and I need to hit the reset button in order to make myself feel like 'me' again. My 'reset button' is roller skating. You know, the old skool kind with four wheels and a stopper at the front. It reminds me of my childhood, playing roller hockey in the back garden with bamboo canes and a tennis ball. I also read somewhere that that pert little bottom of @kylieminogue was all down to roller skating. What an incentive to do it more!? It's soo important to make time for yourself. My 20 minutes of roller skating puts me in a good mood for the rest of the week which has got to be good for the whole family as it makes for a less shouty Mum. Find something that you love and make it part of your life. Today. What do you do to make you feel like 'you' again?
Hoorah! Bluebell season is here! This photo was taken last year at Winkworth Arboretum🌳 in Surrey. Beautiful bluebells as far as the eye could see. It's @nationaltrust so it's free for members plus they have a great adventure playground to boot. This years annual bluebell trip will be to Arlington Bluebell Walk in Sussex. Seven winding trails of bluebells through ancient woodlands and farmland. Can't wait! Bluebell season only lasts six weeks so you need to be quick.🏃 For inspiration on where to see bluebells nationwide check out the link in my bio.
Those of you that saw my rant on Facebook will know how few photos I have of myself with my girls. So when my husband took this photo, unprompted, I was pretty impressed. My rant seemed to hit a chord with many of you so here is my plea to my Insta Followers: It is a sad but true fact that our mobile phones are normally within arms reach so if you witness a particularly tender/cute/funny moment between your partner/friend and their child then pause a second to take in that magical moment, then take a quick snap and most importantly...send it to them immediately. Who knows, you might make their day and you may have just taken the only photo of them together all year.
Yesterday I took my daughter to a building site. Never let it be said that I don't know how to entertain my child on an Inset day! However, this building site was one of beauty and it enabled us to get up incredibly close to the iconic @batterseapwrstn, one of the largest brick buildings in the world. A handful of shops and restaurants are open so we treated ourselves to a bowl of Ramen at @tonkotsulondon underneath the railway arches. If you fancy a peek at this massive redevelopment take the Pump House Lane off Battersea Park Road which takes you directly past the Power Station to @circuswestvillage. It's spectacular.
My 5 year old once said 'I don't like running. I don't like skipping. Infact, I don't even like walking that much'. Yes, she's not really a sporty type! Well, she had no problem running as fast as she could in order to get her kite in the air. She didn't really need to run as it was so windy, but she seems to associate kite flying with running so who was I to stop her? There's something incredibly tranquil about watching a kite soar through the sky, especially on a sunny day. And the kids absolutely loved it too. For about half an hour anyway...
Well hello sunshine 🌞This face of pure joy comes from a little girl whom has waited nearly 4 months into 2018 for this very special moment.
