I’ve taken an unintentional blogging and social media break. With everything going on with my Dad and just my usual winter blues, I’m feeling unsettled and unmotivated. Writer’s block is the worst, but it makes the creative inspiration that comes after so much sweeter. . And speaking of sweet, you’re looking at him. This boy is sweetness personified 💙
Oh, man. The response I got to yesterday’s blog post? It just floored me. I don’t know what I did to deserve such kind, loving, and tender-hearted people in my life. Y’all are the 🐝’s knees. . This has been a sad season for me, but it’s also been filled with so much joy because of these two right here. They are just the sweetest and my life is 1000x better because I get to be their Mama 💔
⭐️ NEW BLOG POST ⭐️ . I don’t really know a more appropriate way to sum up the circumstances with my Dad, except that it really, really sucks. Today’s post is not a happy one, so if you’ve already got a case of the winter blues, I suggest you skip it. . But the burden of carrying this sadness without being able to share has become overwhelming and I needed some therapy (AKA: writing). Talking about grief and my Daddy #ontheblog. 💔 . My kids and my sitter’s kids are both sick, so I’m working from home today. I’m still in the same yogurt-smeared shirt I wore yesterday, so I thought I’d go with a more flattering picture of myself for some #FridayIntroductions. . I’m Kaity, married to Chuck and Mama Bear to Charlie (3) and Crosby (1). And yes, if we ever have a third child I have my future daughter’s “C” name already picked out 😂 . I’m a part-time working Mama as a Marketing Director for a small nonprofit, as well as Co-Director of our local Farmers’ Market. I’m kind of obsessed with both jobs ❤️ . I was never a coffee person until after my second baby was born, then it became life fuel. My drink of choice is Peppermint Coffee with Sweet Italian Cream. (I literally stocked up on Aldi k-Cups at Christmas time so I’ll be set for the next three months 🎅). . Speaking of Christmas, I’m a human raised by elves. My friends will tell you- I’m a Christmas freak. It also doesn’t hurt that I met my husband, had my first son, and conceived my second son all in December. So it’s kind of a magical month for me 🎄 . I’m not remotely athletic, but I do like being active. In high school, I did cheerleading and track. Running is still my activity of choice and I’m hoping to run my first half marathon this year! 🏃♀️ . Now it’s your turn, tell me what’s you favorite holiday? What do you do to stay fit?
I had so many things I needed to get done today. Instead, I’ve spent the day cradling the little guy on the left while he cries in pain. It’s so hard to watch him hurt so much- I remember just how horribly those ear infections hurt. . Thankfully, I’ve got Daddy home from work to help relieve me of cuddle duty, a scheduled doctor’s appointment just a couple hours away, and @krogerco Clicklist to take away the trouble of my weekly grocery shopping trip. . Trying not to dwell on it and think of happier times, like this weekend at @boonshoftmuseum. . Oh, motherhood. The hardest of days and the best of days 💔
Although sharing an office is pretty good grounds for disqualification, I’d be remiss if I didn’t share one of my favorite photos of downtown Wilmington for @mainstreetwilmi’s #luvwilmingtonoh contest. . I’ve always loved this faded Coca-Cola mural off of South Street, but I loved it even more when it became the perfect backdrop for my 39 weeks pregnant self 😂
⭐️ NEW BLOG POST ⭐️ . From March-December, Saturdays are Farmers’ Market days. I’ve really enjoyed the last month of obligation-free weekends. We’ve developed our own little Saturday family tradition- swimming lessons followed by lunch and shopping at Costco. . Today, I’m sharing what Saturdays look like for us during this current season of motherhood. [Link in profile]
